Background: I recently bought the Platinum version of the game in order to play with two of my friends online. After sorting through the various multiplayer problems that everyone has run into, I seem to have hit a brick wall. Everytime that I try to enter Neverwinter City after completing a third of Act II, my character experiences a game ending glitch. I am the host, and as far as I know it is impossible for the host to either export their character and bring them back in or create a new one. If I am wrong on either of those two counts, let me know and my problem might be solved (and if there is an underlying problem, then I will be back to my current predicament).

The Glitch: After having played through a third of 'Storm of Zephir', I run into a glitch in Act II. Whenever I try to enter NWC, my character suffers the following problems: First) He loses most of his items, even the ones that are equipped. Second) Whenever I click on a person to interact with, or I specify a location to run to, my character glitches his way there. To my friends it seems as if my character is either lagging or teleporting. Third) My character suffers a permanent change in class. My character is a level 13 Drow wizard, yet after I enter NWC the game changes him to being a level 1 fighter. I retain all of the skills, feats, and attributes that I have selected during my time as a wizard but I cannot cast spells of any level.

I would also like to mention that this problem ONLY occurs when I try to enter NWC. I can go into fights, cutscenes, dungeons, and other cities without suffering any unusual problems at all. I have also encountered it solely in the third expansion pack, and only after I have played through part of Act II. I was able to enter NWC several times earlier in the game but am unable to do so after I com

Specs: I custom built my computer and it can run Crisis on full (for those who aren't aware of what Crisis is, the shorthand is that it is a game which requires better specs on its lowest setting than most games do on their highest). The OS is Window's 7 Home Edition. I have manually updated each and every driver, reinstalled both the game and reinstalled the updates. It is also not a port/router/internet connection issue. Nor is it a save game problem, as I have 7 saves from different points in the game that I have tried to restart from. I have run into the same problem each and every time I go into NWC once I reach a certain stage in the game. I doubt that it is a hardware issue, but if there is a known issue with W7 that causes this bug I have not been able to find it. I've trawled through both the new and old NWN's 2 Forum technical help sections and have been unable to find a similar problem.

Any help will definitely be appreciated.

Any content in your override folder? Sounds like the on enter script for that area is being overridden.

I checked the override folder on your suggestion and did not find any files within it. Thank you for the idea, though.

Corrupted data files, or files got changed in the game folder. Might have to reinstall. ( you should be able to keep your game save file from prior. )

Get the client extension as it fixes some bugs, but it's pretty likely your having data files your buddies don't. Make sure everyone has the same expansions too, and the same overrides.
