Anyway, they have said they are altering the face creator for ME3 so you will probably be able to make yourself soon enough

You saw no point? There was very definitely a point there. I'm afraid I disagree that wanting your character to look like you is "vain" - I always want my characters to look similar to me on my first play through at least.
I think you're missing the point that the default options for Shep are extremely limited. I don't want my Shep to look like everyone else's Shep. That's not unwarranted importance, that's a preference.
I've yet to see two Shepards that look exactly the same facially (limited hairstyles, obviously, are the biggest draw-back if you're playing it unmodded). The spectrum of differences is wider than people think. All I have to say on that.
Well it's subjective isn't it? (<--- rhetorical question) Just because there are a wide spectrum of differences to your eye doesn't mean there are to others.

There isn't much trolling.
Maybe there is a mod, but why should you have to use a mod to make the character look asian or a petite blonde? It should be an option in the first place.

Well, I think I made my point.
Unless you dramatically change the nose, or make your Shep look super ugly, they look very similar. Facial width, eye colour, and hair style/colour excluded.

i have tried to make my character look like me it sort of does and sort of doesn't at the same time.
But I do agree the system really does need improvement (but its alot better than ME1 system)
I feel aswell the textures at times are completely wrong considering at times it manages to make shepherd look like a teenager due to all the dimbles on his face.

I'm afraid I'd have to disagree with you there, buddy. She isn't pretty or that different to the rest of the FemShep's that I've shown you on here. Her lower lip is fuller and there is a slight change to her face shape, but that's about it.
