Also /sigh @ Bioware pull your head out your own ass for a moment and look around once in a while... There is more to the world than your own games.

HOW DARE THEY EVEN THINK THEY ARE WORTHY OF ANY PRAISE EVER.
every single one of these people need to stab themselves with a rust screw driver for being so proud of their hard work.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go play these games and enjoy them and be all bitter that the people who made them are happy with their work.

Possibly. But this exchange was worth the Bale/Kermit nod.

Hmmm, the OP importunes BioWare to "get over yourself". I would say that if anyone needs to get over oneself, it's many of the people around here. After all, the only accomplishment I've witnessed among many of you is the ability to gripe about a game you played and didn't like. For MONTHS. Whereas BioWare actually MAKES the games. Maybe not perfect games, but games that are pretty enjoyable to a number of people. I'd say that's a good deal more impressive than merely playing/hating/complaining about a game. So, let the over-oneself getting begin!
Point taken.

Plot is story. Story is not plot. Likewise, storytelling is story but story is not storytelling.
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that your mistake in one of grammar rather than one of incongruity. A plot is an outline for a sequence of events, while it is possible for such an outline to constitute the whole of a story, such is neither the general nor specific case. Storytelling is, however, entirely separate from story, as is evident from the words being of different lexical class. Storytelling is the act of conveying a story and is not itself a part of the story. In the course of this discussion, no one was arguing the story telling aspect but the 'plot' aspect of the discussion.
I suggest you read the thread before posting in it.The term 'story' was used a s a casual term, but a reasonable person can ifner it's actually 'plot'.
Indeed, and as a reasonable person I can also deduce what you actually meant when you misspelled "infer". That does not mean that either is correct.I sated you made a complete 180 degree turn because you just threw in the term 'storytelling' into a discussion where it was discussing 'plot'.
A few things: Considering that the article which this thread discusses is about storytelling, and that Ringo12's rhetorical question was, in fact a, misnomered reference to that same article I hardly see how I could be considered to have "thrown in the term"; and considering that you started your post by claiming that "plot is story" and that "storytelling is story", your subsequent claim that storytelling is "180 degrees" away from plot is a bit absurd, don't you think?
You have become my favorite user.

Its worth noting that its only Casey Hudson answering, who is hardly representative of Bioware as a whole and that we only got quick grabs, how do you know that was all he said? I think its far more likely he talked about a few different games and they only quoted the 1 bit.PoliteAssasin wrote...
Well they say pride comes before the fall. Biowares been full of themselves lately. I noticed it with bungie right after halo 2 came out. Must be a sequel thing.... Once their games have received second installments, the days of the humble game developer are over... and to the guy above saying how they have a right to be proud of themselves, please read the question ign posed to the developers, and then read Casey's response. It had nothing to do with what they asked...

I see here that they think, they make best RPG games out there. Well, they were making good rpg games. No they only have FPS with RPG elements called ME and "action button smasher" called DA II. Nothing more right now.
I stop pre-ordering their games. I will wait for DA 3 and ME 3 but before i even think about buying them i will wait for gameplay on YT, demo and reviews.
That BW guy there is full of himself when they just got uber fail this year.
