Biotic abilities that are doing more than tossing people around would be good.

I always thought vanguards had a good assortment of powers, plus you can have that one bonus power that could be anything you've unlocked previously.

I use shockwave and slam a LOT, especially with husks (once their armour is stripped on insanity, of course) when my charge is on cooldown.

You're doing it wrong if all you're doing is charging.

Wrong

Shockwave and Pull. Hello?!
Plus the option to add an extra bonus... like Slam, Stasis, Reave, Dominate, or Barrier.

ME2 has global cooldowns, which means that when "charge is on cooldown" so are the rest of your powers.  Maybe ME3 will do a better job of making powers besides your signature power appealing.

To get back on topic, I think Vanguards have enough biotic abilities.  They can Charge, they can use Shockwave, and they have Pull.  If builds get larger in ME3, then I wouldn't mind more.

I only used charge once then i kept using only pull and shockwave frankly i find charge to be worthless on anything else other than casual or normal.

yeah, i agree, even just adding in throw or warp would be awesome.

i always take slam as my bonus power on my vanguard.

no class should be a one trick pony. the vanguard shouldnt be restricted to shotgun chargeing to be effective, and the infiltrator shouldnt be restricted to cloak sniping all the time.

Vanguards feature a steep learning curve compared to most of the other classes, especially on Insanity.  Stick with it if you care to.  It's a lot of fun.  Check out the strategy forum for some tips if you're at all interested.

Charge is the bread and butter of the vanguard class. If you're not using it often, you're doing it wrong. The other biotic powers are the ones that are only for use on casual - veteran, since defenses block them otherwise.

I don't think vanguards really need anything else. They're pretty well balanced as is.

Not really. Charge is the best way the kill with the Vanguard. And I don't find Pull and Shockwave useful enough to use over Charge in most situations, especially with Shockwave's long cooldown.

I think all the classes need more powers and some way to chain powers. Vanguard needs some sort of close range power. Now you sort of charge in and then you're out of biotic tricks. Like a weak Krogan that can't be Rezzed.

I always looked at the Vanguard as a mix between the Soldier and the Biotic, but having no specialization, no focus.

Don't know about you guys, but the Vanguard seems right to me so far.

Vanguards have shotguns for a reason, you know.

Anyways, all classes are getting some flashy melee ability so vanguards will have something new in ME3. I'd like a biotic punch like Jack's when she's escaping from Purgatory.

I'm not sure they need more biotic powers. If they have too many why play an adept?

Well hopefully that means no more getting out boxed by Husk, but that's not what I meant.
The classes are a nice starting point but you should be able to develop them to your preferred play style so that by the end a fully evolved Vanguard can be played several ways, from melee machine to grasshopper tank. It'd also be nice if you could charge back to cover.
Oh, and shotguns suck, you miss and you're out of ammo.

Indeed; Vanguards already have 3 biotic powers - they need combat powers, they have none - only ammo which is equipment not a 'power'.

There are many shotguns to fit many different playstyles.  And there's an ammo upgrade.  Try the Scimitar or Katana if aiming is a problem.

Then don't miss. You're doing it wrong.

I take it your one of those people against thermal clips you always run out of ammo.
Those people need to stop doing it wrong

Two diferent issues. Yes I am against thermal clips I'd like to be able to get through a mission without resorting to handguns, but I'm also against most of my shot missing and even when it hits, lame stoping power.

You haven't either, your only argument has been "I run out of ammo" which really shouldn't be a problem.
