I don't believe they could make the game equally good on consoles as on PC unless they build one build; the PC version will not be fully optimized without making it first and then porting it to the consoles, which would result in an even more inferior console version. Bioware did not want to do that; Origins' ports were criticized for it and they wanted to make all versions of the game, if not completely equal (the PC is better graphically), then at least in the same region of quality. As long as they want to make games for PC and consoles, I doubt the PC will ever use the absolute highest standard because they'll want them to be somewhat similar in quality.

From a PC standpoint, people say that the PC version was dumbed down so the consoles didn't suck.

From a console standpoint, people say that, unlike last time, the game had a better graphical quality because Bioware spent the time to make it decent.

Either way, somebody loses. Seeing as a huge portion of the market plays on consoles, what was Bioware supposed to do? Tell everybody, "Well, we realize a lot of you play consoles out there, but we'd rather cater to the PC crowd and screw you over."

Well there you go.It is all about choice.BW gets to choose how to make the game and the consumer gets to choose if they will buy it.I won't pretend to understand consoles because I never used one.I have nothing against console players.Ok I think they should be severely whipped with a wet noodle.J/K... maybe. The bottom line is BW needs to come up with a solution. They have all those techies who are making better than minumum wage and should be able to figure something out.Personally the graphics aren't the biggest thing to me.Story line is.DA 2 is a 5 in my book. How DA 3 comes out we will have to wait and see.No big deal.As much as I am a fan of DAO I can deal with not getting another DA2.With few exceptions I really didnt think much of the npcs.As Kihm would say"Your Healer is a Sissy".

Ah but then that will come back to bite console gamers in the bum Andar91 so no one wins. Read my other posts on this thread to understand why.

All PC gamers should buy Battlefield 3 to support DICE's noble development decisions and show EA that this is the way forward.

BF3 will have to wait , i got fed up with bf 2 when i saw all the cheats bots that people used to get ahead in multiplayer and ea did not implement stricter laws to enforce no cheating after a while....another EA epic fail imho... so no go for bf3 when it comes out until i see proof that i can play a clean cheat free game!

oh i forgot about the stupid bunny hoppers that ruined the game and ea took forever to try to minimize this

You made an interesting point, although the idea of one game stunting the growth of technological development seems a bit of a stretch (although you could argue it would be the beginning of a design philosophy trend).  I'm only speaking about this issue in the context of one game; I don't think all of the other developers out there are going to abandom PC exclusives just because some games come out on multiple platforms.

One step at a time comrade. Don't set your standard too high or we get no improvement.

I'm not asking for PC exclusives. I'm asking for games to respect the power that the PC platform holds and make use of it to the best of the developers' abilities.

I support the developer here, really. If you want better version... Would you pay $80 instead of $60 for PC version then?

nope because cd project proved that a small company can whip DA2 behind with less resources , and make a better game for the same price... so no quality and price should not be mutually synonymous....

I agree with this. Its why i bought Starcraft 2 and i continue to pay for my wow account, though i log in for like an hour or two a week. Blizzard knows how much the PC community will support a company that gives us what we ask for. I will continually support companies that don't treat PC gamers like they are either second class citizens or morons. However, those that do will no longer get any of my money.

Seems to me like a plastic disc wouldn't make a very good coaster, even if it is a game you happen to hate.

I disagree.

First what is better game is personal taste. So, that has no base here. Second we don't know does even different kind of version cause any major cost change. How ever, if it does, then it's fair to take that cost in the games price.

so many professionals from the gaming industry here wow!

do you guys know how small the pc gaming market has become (if you factor out mmo's and strategic games or easier said starcraft)? you make your money on consoloes nowadays. there aren't many pc developers left (mainly valve and cd project) and also they go multiplattform (portal 2 for all plattforms, TW2 for xbox360), so it's totally understandable that you don't put too much effort into something that doesn't really pay off. if they had to please the pc gamers, this could easily cost some month of work (and therefor money) and you have to ask yourself if the people you attract more with these changes are worth it. pc gaming has become a small market and therefor the decision is often easily done.

also stop complain about something you guys have totally no clue about. i really wanna know how many people here demanding on stuff, actually know anything about the work bioware has to do and something about game programming and porting in general. i highly doubt there is anyone here who really has much intel on that.

face it, pc market is dying since some years now (and yes it won't totally die but it becomes more and more less important). the reasons are mainly piracy and the 352305 variations of systems you have to factor in development. i mean imagine creating a website. you have to optimze it for any big browser (and there are only 4) and even this sometimes gets little bit complicated. so now imagine doing it for a lot more.

Ridiculous. There are standardised prices for a reason and PC games shouldn't be $60 anyway since there are no royalty fees. What will happen if quality isn't improved is we simply won't buy the games or wait for their price to decrease, or buy them second hand.
