I've already said this discussion is strictly about if you were Shepard. Not from a gaming perspective. So the consequences are very real. And I know there are no right choices. You are free to make selfish evil choices. There are virtuous choices however which is what I'm defending.

Again, I think that you're unnecessarily limiting the argument. I have some Shepards that would choose to save his/her love interest over the lives of millions, and some that would not. But then you add the qualifier "but what if YOU were Shepard," completely ignoring the fact that if I were Shepard, I would be utterly and fundamentally different.

And then when someone replies that he/she would save his/her lover over civilians, you point out "That's why they don't allow romance in the military!" which is quite uncalled for. You then further point out that anyone who would choose "Love" over "Sacrifice" (a literal choice in Fable 2, by thw way) is "evil and selfish." That's also quite uncalled for. You're leaving no room for intelligent debate or an actual exchange.

Actually they are. Normandy's an alliance vessel so shepard's an alliance Marine. therefore Military.

My car is German. Does that make me a German?

Did everybody forget the part where the Alliance's Normandy got blown to itsy bits, and Shepard took over Cerberus' Normandy? Now, I'm going out on a limb here, but I'll chance it... I don't think Cerberus is a part of the Alliance military. Amirite? Image IPB

Doesn't mean that Shepard has to stay completely, 100% loyal to the Alliance, just like when Shepard had the choice to agree or disagree with Cerberus. Just because it's a path that you didn't take, doesn't mean that those who chose it are "evil."

Colossi are protoss units. Does that make protoss OP? No. The fact that they have colossi, blink stalker, VR, and sentry makes them OP.

No, but commanding a military vessel makes you military.Image IPB

Alright, Skilled Seeker, it's really your own fault your last thread got derailed. You underestimated the dislike that some people have for Tali when you made her the only option for sacrifice; the first two comments are actually pretty hateful and against Tali. Of course the Tali fans are going to defend their character against comments like that; any character fan would.

As to your question, yes, I would sacrifice anyone to stop the Reapers IF IT WERE NECESSARY. By that I mean that I'm not going to just say "Jacob, go detonate that bomb while we escape" if we can in fact detonate it remotely. I'm not going to just sacrifice someone because I want to get rid of them or because I dislike them.

If there is a situation where I must sacrifice myself or a squadmate in order to achieve victory, I will do it. That is our job.

At this point, from what I understand, this is not actually confirmed. The source of this opinion is a model with Alliance blue paint. The ME2 Normandy had Cerberus paint and by the end of ME2 was no longer a Cerberus ship.

Paintjobs are superficial evidence.

This is why relationships aren't allowed in the military. You join the military to protect those who cannot protect themselves, not the other way around.

This is wrong. Relationships aren't allowed between a grunt and an officer because of a conflict of interest. If two people of different ranks fall in love, they're SOL. If two people of the same rank or from two different and separate chains of command fall in love, they're golden.

The issue arises when an officer has to decide between a random grunt that isn't good for a suicide mission or their lover who is the best choice. The military is afraid of favortism but if one person is not in a position of power over another in a relationship then relationships are allowed.

I just watched a program about military family suprises where a Captain in the Air Force suprised his wife, also a Captain in the Air Force, at a terminal where the wife had just arrived (he was a fighter pilot and she was a cargo pilot). Both were active members BTW.

Or not.

If a hobo somehow takes control over a battleship, that doesn't make him some kind of military commander.

Shepard just took control over a ship. That's it.

Especially when Shepard himself said that he's no longer a part of the Alliance military. I think I'll put my faith in the ex-commander's words.
