The Grey Nayr wrote...

Um thats actually wrong. I asked Mike Laidlaw once about why the Darkspawn were redesigned and why Genlocks and Shrieks were gone in DAII. The answer he gave me was that they weren't gone, "they just haven't appeared yet".

If Emessaries were Shrieks he would have said so instead of saying that they just have yet to show themselves

I wasn't agreeing so much with shrieks perhaps, but I thought those emissaries did look like tainted elves - just looking at those ears. Well, actually, I don't know. Never mind.

Watch that video Q&A with David Gaider about Dragon Age. he says theres a fifth race that live in Par Vollen called the Fex and they just don't get out much.

Yes, I read that. And that would be one more variable to account for. I wonder what else we'll discover going forward.

Let me see if I can find that video.

Personally, I think that the Idol contains the essence of something of a similar nature to Flemeth, but actively hostile rather than merely meddling; despite Flemeth's meddling, she rarely does something that actually is hostile and often seems to aid good causes.

Perhaps the idol is some sort of evil counterpart to her. We already know that Flemeth can restore herself from a locket, so someone with similar powers would easily be able to store themselves in an idol.

I think Flemeth is one of a kind. TBH.

I do not know what to think, to be honest. There is little to go by. I could speculate, but there would be little to test it with.
