hey, i was wondering if anyone has a template for reskinning the tabards, just the torso part with the symbol on it. and let me clarify what i mean. i dont mean the hauberks. i mean like the ones with a separate torso and leg elemenent. the loin cloth kinda element is set with the robe modifier. the torso you can choose. it has either plate armor or chain mail underneath. if anyone can find one, or tell me how to do put my own symbols on it, that woul dbe sweet.

You have to find the MDB for the tabard to find which dds textures it uses - once you have the texture, you can modify its appearance.
There are two ways to do it - override the tabard entirely so they all look the way you modify it to or create your own MDB using the modified dds (tga?) file, which will require some 2da editing.

The part of the 2da editing confuses me. I have made modified clothing with using a previous mdb, cloning it with mdb cloner as a new mdb. I have edited the dds files assoicated with the previous mdb, and saved them with the same name structure as the new mdb.Morbane wrote...

They show up in toolset and in game, and I didn't do anything with 2da.

Fair enough Orion - but otherwise the method is sound - since no 2da editing is necessary it just got easier I suppose.

I don't know of one specifically for armor (which "tabards" are part of) but Chaos Wielder has a nice tutorial for textures in general on his Shagret blog. That should help you get started.
Given that this type of question comes up not infrequently, perhaps a topic about this (maybe started by Chaos Wielder?
