warewolfs and sold their pelts. Then I killed the great oak tree. Now I
need a warewolf pelt to give to the blood mage to get into the center
of the forest.
I've visited all the stores looking to buy back the pelts, but can't find them anywhere (I probably sold it back in Lothering which is now locked out).
Help?
(PS3 version)

People there suggested to download the toolset or use the console to add werewolf pelts.

I've never noticed any re-spawn...
But I have seen random encounters on the world map. Not sure how rare they are.

I've heard some folks have encountered a pack of werewolves after clearing the entire area once over but I'm not sure what provokes this encounter...or even where it's at...think I vaguely remember them being just above the Great Oak, sort of northish but don't take my word on it...I blew through it pretty quick last time I was there and didn't kill the poor Poet-tree or the Hermit. I also run the PC version, could be an oddity.
Yes, there is a random encounter while travelling, but it only seems to occur when you are going to fulfill one of the Rogue quests where you are meeting contacts in the Brecian Forest outskirts. Actually, there are 2 possible encounters, - in one, you may face 6 sylvan tree bosses (that is pretty nasty if you have low resistance or constitution as they all cast crushing prison on every single member of your team simultaneously, so if u cant resist it or survive it, you are screwed.). The alternate encounter is with a pack of werewolves. I usually reload if I get the sylvan tree ambush, and keep reloading until I get the werewolf one instead.
Also, you wouldn't have been able to sell all the werewolf pelts in lothering as it is destroyed the moment you leave it. That means there are tons of werewolves left in the Brecian Forest and Elven Ruins.

I'm pretty sure I returned there at least once. I don't think it's destroyed until you complete some quest.
What elven ruins?

I seem to remember Lothering was destroyed the moment I made camp after helping the dwarf merchants. When I came out of camp, Lothering was destroyed. It's possible though I may have rescued the Mage Tower first though, so I am little fuzzy on that, but I remember it was almost immediate as I had wanted to go back right after leaving and picking up a littel more cash, to buy some recipes, - but I couldn't

Elven Ruins = Werewolf Lair (plus Arcane Warrior specialization, plus The Mage's Treasure, plus one of the five Revenants)

lothering is not destroyed right away. you can go back there atleast until you recruit 1 army. at which time the blight overuns lothering and you cant go back.
but hes also has the problem where he cant even enter the elvin reuins because he needs the pelt to get into it in the first place.
but imo he shouldnt be selling anything to the merchants in lothering or at the dalish camp depending on just how evil he wants to be
unless your in a hurry only sell stuff too the merchant in your camp because youll always be able to go back and buy it back.
it easy to screw up your first playthrough in this game. i did and had to start over when i was playing both sides in orzammar not knowing niether side would talk to me after doing that and had to start a new game because i couldnt advance the story and i had done so much in my game after it was bugged not knowing i was basicly forced to gather an army i didnt even want lol. that bug could of easily been avoided if you wernt required to get everyones help.

My inventory was full, and I didn't yet know about that

That's weird, I played both sides in orzammar too, and didn't have any problems.

I don't understand why this is such a big deal. If you killed the grand oak and have been running around trying to figure out what to do next, chances are if you just reload a previous save you will have lost all of 30 minutes of playing time at most. So reload the game.
