For the last time, Asaris assume the most physically attractive form for a species. They don't "look" like they do to us for any other race, or even amongst themselves.

However, since they are monogendered, their evolution has only allowed one assumption per species, hence why they appear female to both men and women.

Octopuses are marine animals with tentacles and are the worlds best at camouflaging themselves. (youtube it, its insane)
Asari are based on them, except instead of camouflage, they go for sexouflage. They are unable to do it perfectly though, hence the tentacle heads.

That is why Asari have boobs, have five fingers and the rest of the stuff that makes them look human.

It is the only logical explanation.

Strongly disagree with this theory. The only evidence there is to support this is three dudes drinking in a bar.

Grayson in Retribution speculates that the Asari use some kind of telepathic manipulation for other species to find them attractive.

exactly. That is how they stay attractive to all species at the same time. (ie more than one race looking at them)

We know they have powerful telepathic powers and are attractive to all species. Why would Turians be attracted to the human form?

All your "evidence" is speculation, from three drinking men and grayson, who is a duster. Thats really reliable. Also, if they used telepathic means to make themselves attractive to every species at once then once you went to touch them you might put your hand through the fake extra body weight or touch her boob when a salarian would try to reach past her expecting her to have a sunken chest.

It doesn't work unless they shape shift as well and they cant do that either.

Garrus finds FemShep attractive, so that's proof against you saying why a turian would find humans attrative so a human with tentacles for hair, which they think it looks like their fringe, wouldn't be far out of the question either. Maybe turians like the human form because its like the asari's form. Remember they were around a hell of a lot longer then humans. So human females in their mind would resemble asari, making them find human females atrractive.

The stork also solves every issue raised by people in this thread...

Doesn't explain the boobs or why all races find them attractive when only humans should feel remotely so.

Boobs are used to nurse the young, not give birth.  Attractiveness transcends sexuality in some people's minds (including mine).  Also, it's not safe to assume humans being the only species who should find them attractive, especially since asari have been space-faring much longer than humans.  Actually, who's to say the other species don't find humans attractive?  To some Mass Effect fans, it's all one big happy orgy anyways.  So why the hell not?  Posted Image

Asari don't have mammery glands. The structures which seem to correlate with breasts are actually venom sacs. Somewhere along their evolutionary development, asari gained the ability to project poisionous spit up to thirteen meters as a defense mechinisim. However, modern asari consider doing so to be base and vulgar. As time progresses, the venom sacs are begining to atrophy, where as some exceptionally old asari -- Benezia and Samara for example -- still sport the greater capcity venom sacs.

As for their birth, asari hatch from eggs similar to those of amphibians. They lay anywhere from thirty to seventy eggs at anyone time, though the first asari larva to hatch consumes the rest of the eggs. Occasionally more than one egg will hatch before the rest are consumed, though this is exceedingly rare.

The asari larval stage lasts around fourty-six years -- at which point they've grown to about a meter and a half long long -- before they begin to weave a caccoon around themselves. Inside the cacoon, they gestiate into the form commonly seen throughout the galaxy. This stage of their lifecycle is classified the "sexbomb" or "fanservice" stage.

Asari do have a "birth" canal, rougly corresponding to the belly button, from which they lay their eggs, as well expelling the nutrient fluid that the eggs must be bathed in daily for the duration of the nesting period. The canal is no more or less sensitive than any other part of their body and is not considered an erogenous zone.

They expell two different forms of liquid waste. One is sweated out from their crest, occasionally giving it sheen that some species find appealing, though most asari or often confused and disgusted by this behaviour. The second form or liquid waste is expelled through a urethral opening, similar to that of human females, without the accompanying vagina, labia or clitoris. Solid waste is expelled trough the anus, which is rougly analgous to that humans, though the asari digestive tract features two stomachs, as well as a large, small, and medium intestine.

Some asari who've interacted with humans, and explored human culture, since humanity first encountered the wider galaxy, have come to enjoy penatrative anal sex, though they occasionally complain that their human partners neglect their specific erogenous zones, specfically their shoulder blades and knees.

My theory explains every single issue raised throughout this thread and many others regarding Asari. I've yet to hear one sound argument against it.
Salariens don't find Asari attractive. They are not driven by hormonal reproduction urges.
They telepathically communicate with you. I'm sure they've found a way to make sure they can hold the illusion against other senses.
Don't forget octopuses are very flexible. It's not so much shape shift as to fold their tentacles in a certain way.

Garrus then admits he had never considered it, but then goes on to say "why the hell not?" because he is up for experimenting. The "attraction" is because they reminisce on everything they've been through together so they have a lot in common.
It wasn't anything to do with the way femshep looked.

That's what they are used for in mammels, but Asari aren't.
In an evolutionary perspective, animals evolve to be attractive to those who further their genetic linage. In most cases, its the opposite gender of the same species, but for Asari it can be any living race.

Thus they evolve to be attractive physically to anyone who lays eyes on them as they know persuading aliens with their charm is not the way forward.

Just so you know its octopi not octopuses. You realize your comparing two extremely different species just off one visual trait alone? And octopi use their tenticales as a mode of transportation its not on their heads. Its also not tenticales on their heads, its folds of skin. If I was an asari I think I might be offended that I was thought of being a squid because of the way the folds of my head skin looked.

Why not list what issues it solves in this thread? Cause Im not seeing it. Also you say Salarians don't find them attractive, but you're wrong cause on Illium there is a Salarian married to one. Sure that looks like a plus point toward your arguement but really its not. Some Salarains, Krogans, Turians, Humans don't find them attractive. It's down to personal attraction, if they mind controlled every species to see them as attractive then why doesn't every member of every species find them attractive? Pretty pathetic mind control if you ask me. That also doesn't explain why humans are attracted to every other species such as Drell, Turians, and Quarians. And why those species are attracted to Humans.

Lastly, You're saying fold their tentacles a certain way. How does that apply to Asari at all?

Exactly, then following that logic the Asari can look exactly like humans and still appeal to other species the same way humans do. I think you're forgeting a very important note as well. Asari have been around longer then Humans. Our human women look like them, not the other way around. If mind control is the case then why don't Human females see them as males if they are trying to look like the member of the opposite sex? Again, mind control fails unless the female is intrested in the same sex, or interested in a species that resembles their sex.

I've stated this before, I had a topic similar to this one a year ago. You want more valid points go read through it.
