Do you like Hawke, or do you miss your Warden? If Hawke were to die, would it affect you?

I like them both the same and don't care much about what happens to either of them.

I think Hawke is a pretty cool guy. eh kills all the mages and templars and doesn't afraid of anything.

I like Hawke more as a character, but I'm more interested in the Warden's story than Hawke's (i.e. what happened to them after their respective games).

I'd stamp on both their faces to get my Bhaalspawn back, mind you, but that's another thread.

To be honest, if Hawke died meant that my warden would return, I'd kill Hawke myself :P I miss the warden and hope he returns in DA3, even if he isn't in it for long.

I have to say my Warden, only because my Warden's choices in her game made differences whereas my Hawke did not so much. I liked my Hawke Ok, she was cool, but she just didn't feel like mine. Heck, my own companions wanted to hang out with my dog more than my Hawke

I love Hawke as a character, sure he might have just stumbled on everything that's been thrown to him over the years ..he was there at the right time at the right place. Both the male and female look great. (Sure the male could use some work, i mean you can shank a guy with his pointy beard!).

I've grown more of fond of Hawke then i ever did with my Warden. I like the approach Bioware did for Hawke, how he turned out to be in the centre of everything. not the usual (Your character is part of some mighty order and must save the worldz!) you see in most Fantasy games.
And i do really, and i mean really hope that Hawke's story isn't finished yet, and somehow he returns as a playable character in DA3.

Hawke is an indecisive, reactive loser, so I want him dead.

Hawke is alright. I really liked playing as a witty female rogue. I don't really care for how s/he stumbled into becoming champion of the city and how nothing s/he did ever seemed to be what was causing events to occur in Kirkwall. If s/he had not been present, I'm not so sure that it would have made much of a difference. I'm more attached to my Hawke(s) then I am with my warden(s) overall, simply because of the way that I role play these games.

I do not miss any of my wardens at all. I never really connected with any of them in Origins. I freakin' loved the companions in that game to death though, and the game itself. I will say that the warden had much more of an impact on Thedas than Hawke did though from what I have witnessed.

But even though I liked Hawke for the most part, I still would rather a new main character be announced for Dragon Age 3. Perhaps not another default "named" character, but maybe a different warden that is voiced? Although, I can't see another Blight happening again so soon. Plus we'll probably end up having to be painted Orlesian fops.

Hawke left me with a "meh" feeling. If he'd died I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have broken down like i did with my warden.

I rather have him stay vanished honestly.

I like both, though I prefer the Warden. (I love the HN, MH and DN background). I'd prefer that both Hawke and the Warden aren't the main character of DA3.

Hawke is the 2nd favourite character I've played in a game after Revan.

I prefer my Warden (<------), he was a more "personal" character, but now he lies dead and cold in a tomb in Weisshaupt Fortress

I didn't like Hawke much, even for characters that are pretty much stripped from any kind of real personality for the player to decide I though Shepard was much, much better, Hawke just feels kinda...generic? I don't know.

I care so much more about Hawke than I did the Warden. I liked my Wardens, don't get me wrong, but they all felt a bit unemotional. There were so many times I wanted them to emit some kind of pain or anguish, only for them to fall flat. Part of this may be do to the lack of VA and thus the lack of facial expressions with every line. Part of this is also due to animation. The Warden was much more static.

But the major reason, I believe, is that DA2 allows for much more reactivity on the part of the player. People complain that certain events int he game are fixed (since this is a no spoiler section, obviously I can't say which). But the game gives you a wide variety of ways to react to those events. So in that way, I felt like I had plenty of choices when it came down to what kind of person my Hawke was. And that type of deep control and emotional response means I tend to get more attached.

The warden was a better character.

hawke was a moron who should be dead in the most painful way. His writer should be made to clean the BW toilets.

New protag for DA3 plz.

Make the story about the character's choices, not NPC-driven narrative. Most designers like to think that all of the characters they write up are totally ****in' and everyone who plays the game will love them to tears. This usually isn't the case, and you'll find people blowing large holes in the chests of your beloved NPCs.

You could give Anders a friendly poke, so it's all good.
