The Reapers are the perfect species. I just finished the game and I felt so bad killing the poor guy. He's God, he's perfection itself. :(

Honestly, looking at all the races and humanity itself in real life... I realise that in the grand scheme of things, everything we do is meaningless anyway.

When we die, we eventually won't be remembered because everyone who knows us shall perish as well.

Looking at human history, it's like looking at hypocrisy and how people find new ways for the same old goals from 2000 years in the past. The Romans were invincible, felt their society was the greatest expanse of human existence... and fell. As did the Byzantine empire, The Turkish empire, the British empire, the USSR, and soon America's idea of an empire (the more foolish of society actually citing the golden ages of the Roman empire and ignoring the fact it was due to taxes that the goddamn civilization fell to pieces). Human arrogance in the belief their society is the elite of the elite. That their achievements and breakthroughs in science, medicine, and law can never be outdone or replaced. That they ARE the pinnacle and aren't simply at an apex.

This arrogance is explored in the game, both by humantiy itself and through fictional alien races. The Reapers are the Gods, mechanical ones, but dieties none the less. They give valuable lessons in bringing down the arrogance that borders on stupidity. They teach us that we are just mortal, we are not like them, we are not perfection. We used their resources to strengthen ourselves and they could very easily take us down.

I wouldn't need indoctrination to help the Reapers. We humans do the same garbage everyday. We go to school, work, and periodically repeat the same habits for nearly all of our lifetimes. The scant few moments spent on fun and vacation are so small in comparison that it's laughable.

In fact... most of humanity, in real life, exaggerate and popularize 'doomsday' scenarios. Recently it was the rapture, before it was Swine flu, before that Avian flu, mad cow disease, Y2K, and you can keep stretching this even further back then the Red-scare paranoia about nuclear bomb threats and how the only way in making sure you were alive was if you were in a fetal position under your desk.

Why do we create such hyperboles? On nearly a monthly basis...? Because most, if not all, of humanity wish for a release from the same events we endure everyday. Because we feel we are wasting our lives on such mundane acts regardless.

Therefore, it is galling that we couldn't join Sovereign. The most perfect Hero to have ever been created. Posted Image

I agree with your post. But the reason being is that there would not be a three game arc.

Wow, that's bleak.
Arrogance? No...I guess I just have more faith in humanity.

"I love humanity it's the people i can't stand"
As much as I dislike so many stupid and idiotic people, im still human myself. Therefore I would never betray my own species. All the aliens in mass effect are in some degree "human" so I feel the same way for most of them. That is why I will fight to the last against the reapers even if there is no chance of survival.
"Us organics are driven by emotion, not logic." Hell yes. Cannot deny that, how logical we ever want to see ourselves as, it's such a short time since we lived in small tribes on earth.

We are the blight of the galaxy....

Ok, take for a second that something like this actually became a reality, we as a species would be in chaos, lack of cordination and faith in each other, not to mention primitive wepons.

Yes, but if you joined Sovereign, you couldn't eat your calamari without getting dirty looks. Is it really worth it?

No it does not. It does however mean that you will be forced to mass colossi to counter their ground army.

It's the fact that you keep posting comments like that over and over again that makes it look like you are trying to offend people on purpose.

How about a horde consisting of a single, cranky moderator who's really tired of typing this:

Stick to the topic at hand.

Repeating familiar pattern is what humans mostly do. It's not that much of a weakness.

And I'd rather join SHODAN and her cyborg army than the Reapers. At least I wouldn't be turned into a nutjob and then a milkshake there.

I don't know... there were points Saren was kind of making sense. I can see how large pockets of the population would willingly join the Reapers for the chance at some form of survival in the face of inevitable doom. Not saying I would have joined the Reapers, but joining Saren to pursue potential routes of survival is something that one might reasonably consider.

Yeah I actually do hope there will be some people in ME3 that willingly join the Reapers. In a galaxy of billions, I'm certain there will be people who would lap up what the Reapers are offering.

Perhaps. Many people have fallen to the side of protoss because they are unbeatable. Its a shame that they will doom all Esports the same way the reapers will doom the galaxy.

I view it as the galaxy being saved.
