Hi.

I usually never start an rpg without asking for help, but this time i thought ill make it through just from reading, i was ok with the first half of the game, but in the end all i did is die. My party members died fast, and all of the NPC died too, i couldnt play anymore and decided to start again. Im always having a hard time playing rpg, so what i did is search for a dual wield warrior build and here what i found of gameFAQ guide:

STR - 42
DEX - Max
WIL - Base or around 20-25
MAG - Base
CUN - Base or 16
CON - Base

Im going to use daggers, is it ok to go with this build?

and 3 more questions:

1) what talents/skills should i spend my points based on this build?
2) based on this build, what are the best party members to have, and how to place them in the tactics window?
3) what places i should travel first?

Thank you very much for you timePosted Image

Personally, If I was going dual daggers, I would build a cunning rogue. In my mind warriors should be dualing 1 handed blades :-)

Having said that, the best min/max starting origin for what you have in mind would be dwarf commoner. Dump all points into Dex first to get momentum. Spend 1 point in poisons to taint your blades.

I would run with an all girl support group, Morrigan, Wynne and Leliana, and after getting some good gear and blades, travel to the circle first. You should have no issues after that.

Aww but i really want to be human warrior ;(

I dont mind doing rogue though. All i want is a good dual wield warrior. (or rogue, as i said i dont mind but i do want to be human).

Here is some great reading I would recommend by folks that really understand the details. My dual wielder was human rogue and she rocked! The key is to have fun, this game is worth the time to finish. Enjoy!

One other thing, if you end up building a rogue, you should switch Leliana with Alistair in your party and use him as your tank.

Dual Wield warrior is the best dps in the game (potentially) period.

Read the build that LastDarkness discusses in here:
http://social.biowar...6/index/5941549

and then about attack speed in here:
http://social.biowar...6/index/5972774

I am running this build, finished Origins, now onto Awakening, no deaths for me. It is rediculously powerful. I had 66 damage per hand with daggers, 160 attack and 180 def, 50% crit, with at least 4 poisons stacked on the weapons, frost/fire weapons bosses go down like nothing else. The beauty of having a warrior is that you are the main tank AND main dps (45% of party damage, competing against 2 mages) so you can control the battlefield. I would REALLY recommend the build to anyone, and I can't wait to get Spirit Warrior in Awakening - then the fun REALLy begins.

My gear looked like this:
Helm of Honnleath, then Corruption for final battle
Shadow of the Empire > Battledress of the Provocateur > The Felon's Coat (upgraded to battledress at around level 7, the Coat when it was unlocked) > Knight Commander's Armour when templar spec for big mage battles
Ancient Elven Gloves > Gloves of Diligence
The Lion's Paw > Silverhammer's Tackmasters > Cadash Stompers
Cinch of Skillful maneuvering
The Spellward
The Key the the City
Lifegiver
The Rose's Thorn and Edge are the two best daggers in the game, if no Edge (which all pc players can download) then Duncan's Dagger is nice.

Put a point in the top line of DW then go for Momentum as fast as you can. Level 4 combat training is never REALLY required, but Whirlwind is nice in conjunction with Paralysis bomb/cone of cold etc so its good to pick up eventually. You don't really need any of the middle line of DW tree. Dual Weapon sweep is nice to get multiple aggro.
Berserk and The Warden's Keep dlc make this build work, and then any other spec is up to you. Typical battle would go Scattershot for aggro, run in, Taunt if anyone is heading to the ranged allies, DW sweep/Whirlwind, auto everything to death. You could also leave it to it and play as one of the mages if you get bored, its just that powerful.

For Warrior or Rogue:
Combat Training 4 for Talents
Coercion 4 for story options
Poison 1 to taint the blades
Stealing 1 for some extra quests

What he said :P go up to 2 combat training as soon as you can for Momentum, then put 2 in coercion, 1 in CT/Poison, opposite to what you just did, coercion 3, CT 4, coercion 4.

Remember that you can use manuals to get more skill points, which i would recommend to get CT and coercion to 4 as soon as possible, poison isn't AMAZING till endgame when you have all the recipies, and stealing is just a bit extra.

I have all the DLC so i got a bunch of stuff and i feel overwhelmed because they all seems to be good, and i dont know what to pick.

Thank you. :)

Well if your going warrior then defintly the spellward because the duel wielding warrior will probably be doing the tanking. I personaly find duel wield warriors to be much better then duel weld rouges (tried both and failed with rouge dominated with warrior) I reccomend warrior because in awakenigins you can get the spec spirit warrior which boosts attack like crazy. Rings = lifegiver and key to the city/ ring of ages (your chose) and belt adnruil's blessing (circle tower) also call me crazy but i like set bonuses for armor. If you have it the orator's armor is great but its a mod and you have to download it. Also for second dagger I like to use everlasting aurora but that's also a mod. Both of these mods can be downloaded from here: http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=935 and here:http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=829 the rest of the set also goes great with a rouge.

If you scroll up i went quite into detail on the armour/accessories/daggers you should aim for :) basically anything that boosts your dex/spell resistance/armour/def/str/dodge really in that order is what you want.

When i have party members, do i need to worry about them? (to change the weapons for them and stuff like that).

Also, my english is not so good and its difficult for me to keep up with the story in rpg games.
I though maybe ill buy the prima guide of dragon age, is there an explanation of the story and the charecters in the prima guide?

Thank you for your help, without you i would have been completely lost !!!

Yes you need to equip your party with new gear when you get it, always try to get the very best gear that you can afford. It is possible to complete the game with sub-par gear, a better understanding of the game trumps gear in my opinion.

The prima guide is good, it is a bit dated now, but it contains information about characters, not so much on the story, but it is helpful and I imagine it is not really that much money now the game is pretty dated (well, kinda)

Its a good build :) Especialy with two mages and shale in Origins

Whats even funnier is generaly around in Awakening you can run two warriors as this build and two mages.

While you dont have insane high crits like the Spirit Warrior Archer, you doe so much damage incredibly fast that everything just drops and often have so high a defense that practicaly nothing can hit you.

Im tempted to experiment with a S&S setup along these lines, to give that weapon some love.
