Im seeing plenty of signs that lead me to believe Mass Effect 3 will be a huge letdown

I call everything like I see it. I know many are pumped for this game, but initial perception for me is causing worry. It's obvious that there needs to be more seen to make any further judgment, but from all details I have so far, I am worried about ME3. AS a result, I naturally find myself posting less and less in this forum.

Am I alone in this?

It'll be a let down regardless of what it does if you keep hyping yourself up with expectations that simply cannot be met.

Quoted for truth.

The game isn't even finished yet, chillax.

I expect Mass effect 3 to suck big time, just so when I do play it, I will be completely impressed.

You pretty much are alone in this. Firstly, you could at least explain why you feel ME3 will be a letdown. Secondly, I don't know how you can think that. Almost everything that has been confirmed so far is good news. Like Someone With Mass said, if your expectations are stupidly high, of course the game will let you down. We'll all be enjoying one of the greatest games, if not the greatest game we've ever played, and you'll be whining about how the game isn't perfect for you. So stop worrying and enjoy what you get instead of nitpicking. At least wait until ME3 is out before complaining.

Only problem I potentially see is that Bioware attends too much to the shooter part and too few to the RPG part, but so far it looks neat. I won't let myself get as hyped up as for DAII (damn, what an fail that was), but my feelings overall are positive for it. Sure, you potentially through your playthroughs can have screwed yourself over royally, but that's not the fault of the game then.

Remind yourself that it's a just game.

A game by a company interested in catering to younger folk(under 21) primarily.(imo)

This whole trilogy is starting to have that strange feel of the Matrix trilogy. That may not be a good thing...

As official DA2-Hater TM I'd say be suspicious.
But I'll also say give it a chance it could be epic.

Huh, I hope not. Matrix 3 sucked big time. 2 was so-so, but 3 was just that unbelievable...
I really hope Mass Effect doesn't go that way.

That's true. After DA2 and Arrival I didn't expect much, but what I hear lately sounds good. But I can't fake it. You know what I mean? I cannot set my expectations to a "safe" level. It all depends on the facts that I hear about it. ;)

I'm only concerned about how the final part of the trillogy/your universe shaped by the previous games and the "good entry point to the series" aspect will work out.

Protip: do not expect it to be in the style of Baldur's Gate.

I guess you're mostly aiming at the 'discover somewhere halfway that there is an weapon/fact that acknowledges an weak point of the Reapers'? Personally when I heard of it for the first time, I thought 'wtf?'. I truly hope they have worked out that aspect OK, since albeit ME is partially sci-fi (I am all game for that), I don't like very unlikely plottwists, there must either be on that moment or afterwards an logical explanation for that (even if that requires some gray braincells from me to figure it out).

A lot of people who get overhyped about a game tend to get really disappointed. This kind of thing leads to broken fanbases or just plain fandumb. If we keep our expectations mediocre or if we're feeling harsh, low, then we'll more than likely be impressed by what'll come.

I find a neat little technique when looking forward to a game and that's to be hyped but try not to paint a picture for my expectations. If I simply get excited about a sequel to one of the best games I've ever played but try not to think about what would make the game awesome and find that BioWare don't do them, I'll be indifferent about said things but still be pretty hyped about it.

If that makes any sense.

Interactive comic for new games which aren't loaded with saves from ME2.

I used to think Mass Effect was an rpg...not a shooter. If I wanted to play gears of war I would friggin buy a shooter

This, and the ending.  You can add War of the Worlds to this list.
