Im seeing plenty of signs that lead me to believe Mass Effect 3 will be a huge letdown

My only concern is how BioWare is going to explain everything in one game without the story being rushed. Honestly, Shepard still doesn't know anything suffice to counter-attack the reapers. You have to figure that out along with uniting entire civilization to your cause. That's a lot to cover for one game IMO. I feel ME2 should have been about the investigation of ways to defeat (or at least to defend against) the reapers instead of the random collector threat.

Remind yourself that it's a just game.
A game by a company interested in catering to younger folk(under 21) primarily.(imo)

So those (few) of us old enough (like older than your father) who understand all the POLITICAL satre & history written INTO the game (more in ME1 than ME2), is all about life's lessons, "it looks lifelike and smells correct too!"
ME3 is now "rated" RP-M+, for Mature people who understand how life works and is far deeper than any of these forums would suggest. I say "bring it on.' I'm just hoping that BW "returns to its roots" and brings back more of the RPG elements. Yes ME1 was clunky, especially the inventory, combat, well I killed a lot of things, the Mako (but I HAVE a driver's license!), but the STORY was the main thing. ME2 changed to be more of a shooter, the story kinna wandered around in the wilderness, but it will (should) work out in ME3. Will ME3 be a "huge letdown," I think not. IF you don't like the way YOUR Shepard's story ends, then I guess that you'll just have to start all over from the very beginning with a new character in ME1 and be VERY careful of ALL your dialogue choices, along with the Paragon/Renegade decisions to get to level 60 (yeah, I play on an Xbox), then continue with ME2 to assemble your allies for ME3.

You don't actually know how long ME2 took with in-universe time. I got the impression that it was at least a couple months.

In ME1 we are told that the journey from Eden Prime to the Citadel took 15 hours. In ME2 Garrus comments that the events of ME1 took place "in a rush".

In ME2, when recruiting Samara, your squad comment that they get put in danger "about twice a day". If you have Legion, his comment is more precise: 2.7 times per day, IIRC.

Given that journeys between systems take hours, not days, and that Shepard is performing 2.7 missions per day, I'd say the whole of ME2 is over in a week.

sympathy4saren,
Your history, and especially this thread, with such an underdeveloped OP leads me to wonder if you're simply trolling or not.

Why don't we wait till we get more info to discuss this. E3 info will be coming today, in about a half hour
