This is a somewhat unusual question, but given the possible choices in the game, is it possible to run out of squadmates for the final section of Virmire?
Basically, I am asking if the following actions can be done in the game:
1. Recruit Wrex but not Garrus. This gives you a total of four (Ashley, Kaidan, Tali, Wrex).
2. Leave Liara on Therum for now.
3. Do Feros and Noveria to unlock Virmire.
4. Kill Wrex on Virmire.
5. During the assault, Kaidan or Ashley must go with Kirrahe's team, and the other guards the bomb.
This leaves you with only Tali as the remaining squadmate for the final battle on Virmire. Just out of curiousity, has anyone tried doing this to see if the game allows this?
Is it possible to run out of squadmates?

You can lose both humans on Virmire?
Edit: I have seen ME1 endgame scenes with only Tali present...

I mean for the last segment of Virmire, where both Kaidan and Ashley are unavailable.

Oh, then probably. Try it.

No, if you don't have enough squad mates Wrex will automatically back down.

I heard that in that case Wrex always listens to Shepard and cannot be killed to avoid exactly that. Similar to how you need two other survivors to win ME2 solely for the reason to be able to play side missions and DLC after the suicide mission.

Kind of hated the forced three member team. Sometimes (like Feros when taking down the colonials), I just wish I could have left my mates in the ship to make certain that they don't leave the spot I sent them too. Way too often, they forget I told them to hold still, then run after me and start shooting the place up. Then you get the even bigger annoyance of squadmates deciding that the best place to stand in a firefight is right in front of your barrel. They're lucky I haven't figured out how to turn on friendly fire.
