hah apparently if you do this mission after the suicide mission you can leave Zaeed to die in the fires he started. so tempted to do it.

I've never left him behind since it would be hypocritical since half of my squad are total nutjobs anyway

I stop Vido. I view it sort of like the Balak situation, let him go and the same thing will happen somewhere else. Plus, I do the mission right after Horizon, so my Shep was angry and wasn't quite in his normal mindset.

Considering that those innocents were put in danger due to the actions of one of my team members, I felt a responsibility to them. It sucks that Vido got away, but I would never have needed to make the choice between innocent lives and Vido if Zaeed hadn't jumped the gun in the first place.

Killing Vido does everyone a favor, not just Zaeed. Sacrificing some people was worth taking out one extremely dangerous criminal. At least that was my attitude.

I don't see it that way.  What do we really know aboutt Vido anyway?  All he's done to my knowledge is take over the refinery and enslave its workers.  Everything else is Zaeed's personal grudge, which is all well and good until he puts people's lives in danger unnecessarily for his grudge.  Sure Vido heads the Blue Suns, but who's to say all Blue Suns operations are led by him?  How do we know he wasn't trying to keep them in line, and with him gone, they run amok?  Or the eternal question of these situations: how do we know someone worse won't replace him?

Plus there's the little caveat that the workers were placed in danger due to Zaeed's stupidity.  We could have killed Vido and saved the workers if it weren't for him.  Besides, the mission as accepted was to liberate the refinery, not kill Vido.  Gotta save the workers (and punch Zaeed in the face).

I save the refinery workers. It was an easy call for my Main Shepard. Killing Vido won't change what the Blue Suns are doing,. I wasn't able to get his loyalty but turns out I didn't need it anyway because I managed to get everybody to survive.

There are two characters in Mass Effect that just leave me with a bad taste, and Zaheed is one of them. If it were my choice, I'd toss him out of an air lock on the normandy lol...but seeing as thats not an option I always make sure to help out the refinery people.

Also, Jack sucks too lol.

If I get his loyalty anyway, I'll save the people. That anger he has will help him complete the mission to save humanity.

He is "bad" and he sure is an "ass" but I wouldn't call him a badass.

I always save the workers and convince Zaeed to forget about Vido for now. Let the workers die once in my paragade walkthrough.

@JFarr, yeah it looks awesome.

I look at Zaeed's quest from a more pragmatic point of view. If my shep is a soldier or infiltrator (i.e. has an assault rifle...at least on my personal coalesced.ini), then Vido dies so I can get the assault rifle upgrade. Otherwise, I save the workers and get the heavy weapon capacity upgrade.

I was not going to allow an important human industry get destroyed because of one man's lust for revenge. So I preserved the facility (the workers are less important), and convinced Zaeed to be loyal.

I think getting the Cain before Horizon and 200% charge is better than +10% AR damage, no matter the class.

As long as I get his loyalty, I'm saving the people at the refinery.
