I went after Vido for the same reason I went after Balak. If Vido gets away he will, by order or deed, kill more people than I am going to save right now.

yes, that is my general mentality when dealing with those decisions. usually i will hands-down save the innocents in a situation like that, but if i look at the big picture it helps more by getting the bad guy now.

Sure Vido will go on killing if you let him go.  The real question is how much of that will go on anyway, even if you do kill Vido.

Balak is arguably a nutcase and taking him out could end his attacks.

Taking down the leader of the Blue Suns won't end the Blue Suns, someone else will take over.  The Blue Suns are going to target another refinery for takeover whether you liberate this one or it burns down, whether it's Vido or someone else at the helm.  Do I really know whether the difference in innocent lives between Vido led Blue Suns or replacement led Blue Suns is going to be more than I can save right now?

To be honest, i wanted to put a bulet in his head and not just a punch, he wanted to kill the head of the blue sun because of his revange ... okay no problem, i understand ... let's destroy a facility with innocent people inside for the lulzand try to catch him faster, i find it really stupid. In fact at the end, after shep says "you started all this, it make sens that you burn in it", i really wanted to let him die like this.
I don't need people in my squad that can put a mess like this.
Got his loyalty .... -_- ;

So my punishement is to never let him get santiago and stay frustrated in every new playthrough, this is how unpatient people should be rewarded anyway : ))

More than that, because it is a video game, we feel it's black or white choice, now as RP, because i go save the ostage first don't mean i won't make it in time, as much as, because i won't save the hostage doesn't mean i'm sure to catche him, so if i was Shep, i would first secure the ostage and do my best to catch Vido instead of going after Vido without the certitude to catch him.

Just my opinion here.

Always kill Vido, even my Paragons. Better for the whole galaxy in the long run.

Also, I don't use Heavy Weapons. :-)

I can't let those people die. I get Zaeed's loyalty even if I don't kill Vido.

I punched him in the face.  My femShep doesn't do lets kill a bunch of innocents for no reason.  Which is exactly what Zaeed was wanting to do.  Punch right in the face.  I'm doing a play through now that will not even bother to recruit him.  I don't like Zaeed at all.

I let Vido get away, saved the people, saved Zaeed, and got his loyalty.  Paragon ftw.

I just HATE letting innocent people die. Besides, there was no reason we could not have killed Santiago and saved the workers. Zaeed is just an idiot and a *******.

I did what Zaeed wanted. As far as I was concerned my mission was to stop the Collectors and part of that was having a team ready to get the job done. Zaeed was part of that team.

Shep needed Zaeed's loyalty in order for him to confront the mission with a focused mind, and the mission was more important than those workers. Their death increased Shep's chances to get Vido, so she didn't hesitate.

I saved the workers.. because the mission was to liberate the workers/facility.. Zaeed manipulated mission parameters for his selfish revenge..

I wanted to kill Vido bad.. but I can't let those people burn to death and the factory go to hell.

To be fair Zaeed's mission was to "take care of it" as he states (and far as I know that's all the info we get).  Zaeed is a contractor, anything not explicitly forbidden is implicity approved so unless his contract specifically stated that they wanted the factory in one piece and the workers alive Zaeed was still operating within mission parameters.  His employers may not like what he chose to do but he still did was he was hired to do.

Lesson learned, if you're hiring a contractor, for anything, be very specific with what you want them to do.  They will leap through any loophole they can find and charge you double for it.

My job's to prepare for the suicide mission, and killing Vido would better prepare Zaeed for the suicide mission. So I did what Zaeed wanted. That doesn't mean I'm happy with Zaeed starting the fire, though.

The mission in the Assignment Journal says.. "liberate/restore" Eldfell-Ashland refinery on Zorya from the Blue Suns. Killing Vido isn't required to do that.. and the post assignment entries basically say you either destroy it(Renegade) or liberate it(Paragon).

Zaeed said screw the primary objective of the mission. I'm here for revenge. I just needed a reason to get you to come here because I didn't trust you would just simply do this for the "lulz".

If he gets away with manipulating me -- why would he ever follow me/be loyal? He was using Shepard and Cerberus as a tool for his revenge, and a human industry as bait for them to bite on. It was always about Vido. I Paragon him simply because -- I want to help him. but I don't want to be his tool.

This too. Zaeed being at his best on the mission is more important than the lives of those workers. Sounds harsh, but that's just the reality of the situation.

My boy Zaeed wanting someone dead is enough reason for me to bust a cap in someone's ass.

It's true, only TIM has a higher priority than he does.
