Nope! Ash is my favorite of all the romances. I would never betray her on any of the Sheps that romanced her.
I'm actually very faithful when it comes to Mass Effect romances. If I want Shepard to romance someone new, I make a new Shepard! =}

Good for you!:D

I cheated on ash with tali, probably because it felt that she would follow shepard without a second thought as well as garrus. In hindsight ash is right about cerberus, but my shepard fully expect cerberus to betray them at some point.

In my book, each one of the romances make sense.
Liara is the sweet, nerdy girl who is looking for some guidance.
Ash is the take-charge tomboy, so it takes some work to get her guard down, but she feels comfortable enough to be effeminite with you.
Miranda is guarded, because she's confident in her abilities but doesn't know her place in the world.
Jack is the scarred one; she REALLY needs someone to help her get back to where she should be after all Cerebus did to her.
Tali is the sweet girl with the crush. The one who knows you're the only one for her.

I go either 1) Liara or Tali, 3) Miranda, 4) Ash, 5) Jack.
But they are ALL very compelling. I just wish they hadn't given Ash that hint of racism or clued you in to Jack's softer side earlier.

This.

If only most people on here saw it the same, instead we regress into shipper wars constantly.

I wanted the achievement, foolishly chose Thane. I did feel bad about it when Liara called Shep out on it. Dumping Thane after getting back with Liara is annoying because Shep can't site Liara as the reason, she has to say its because he's dying. Maybe Shep should just wait till Thane dies and then get back with Liara, he'll probably hang on until the end of ME3 though.

I did not cheat. I moved on. I like Ashley, but Miranda is so much more on my wavelength that anyone else hasn't got the slightest chance.

For me Jack's romance doesn't make sense. Yes, she needs someone to guide her back where she should be, but a relationship partner is exactly the wrong person for that. She needs someone who can retain some emotional distance in-between. A friend rather than a lover, someone who can tell her some hard truths without the fallout spilling over into other areas.

For everything else I agree with you. My preference for Miranda is exactly that - a preference and nothing more, even though it is rather absolute.

Never cheated on Kaidan 2 times
Will stay loyal to Liara twice
Cheated on Liara twice...1 with Miranda and 2 with Tali
Cheated on Ash 1 time....with Miranda (can we say FIREWORKS in ME3!?)

The rest didn't romance anyone.

That the same way I felt about jack I didn't want jack as a lover but I did want Jack to know that my shepard will help her no matter what and that it was okay to let her guard down around him not as a lover but as a loyal friend that she can trust.

This makes me think of the Natalie Portman rap... "My dick is scared of you!"

That aside! No, I didn't. I may on my renegade playthrough for the heck of it, but not on the playthrough that I consider my "real" one. A lot of it for me is that I do get immersed; I kind of think of what I thought Shepard would do in the case of the game I was playing. For her, it hadn't been those 2 years like it was for everyone else so it's not an easy thing to move on. As well, ME2 felt so much more about the mission, about getting things done. Having that possible liability of a relationship, especially after making the choice between Ashley and Kaidan on Virmire and knowing full well that her attachment to Kaidan tinged her choice (although for myself as a player, so did common sense: I was a full out soldier, and didn't need a second one, heh), that was something that could have blown everything in the wrong circumstances. When you know what's at stake and know you have to leverage everyone as they can best be used for the mission, you have to be able to think strategically. So that was my own crazy take on it.

That, and I am actually fond of Kaidan. ;)
If I'd been playing a male Shepard? Whatever happened in ME1 wouldn't matter, I'd be allll about Miranda...

My first few playthroughs, with a Himshep, yes-yes-yes and yes. My current playthrough, with Femshep, had no choice but Liara, in ME1. She has no real choice in ME2, other than the dead end with Samara or the DEAD END after Morinth. There is the fling with Kell. My Femshep has just flirted with her so far. Liaria still turns and shakes her head, after the kiss, in her office. Not sure WTF that's about. The wiki states, it doesn't effect the current romance, but were not in ME3 yet.

I see what you mean, BUT Jack seems like the type of person who wouldn't let anyone get close enough to let them help her. The romance is pretty much the on;y way to "save" her, IMO. There is the "good bud," option, but I don't think Jack is to the point where she can trust others on that level, esp when she talks about the number of "friends" who have used her for their own gains throughout her life.

I'm sayin'! I've been talking about how these, "breakups" could've been handled better by the writing staff where Shep didn't seem insensitive to the LI and the LIs didn't come off as snobbish. Makes you almost WANT to break-up with them after they treat you.

The funny thing is, after V for Vendetta, I can totally see Natalie Portman as portraying Jack. Image IPB
