Pretty much what the title says. I've had DA2 since launch with no problems. I activated it then and everything was kosher. About 5 days ago, I decided to install DAO:UE because I didn't have Origins on this computer. Afterwards, DA2 prompted me for activation. I thought maybe it was related, I activated, and then played just fine. I even checked to make sure I could get back into the game after quitting. I could.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the patch. Today I try to launch the game, and this time it just keeps telling me my username/password aren't correct and it won't launch. I uninstalled DAO:UE to see if that was making any difference. Same problem. I get prompted for activation and it won't accept my username/password.

I'm out of the country at present, so I'm not sure if that makes an impact. I will say the prompts for activation started while I was still in the country. If anyone has any suggestions or if there's info I can provide to help troubleshoot this better, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Edit: I did search the archives and found mention of this problem occuring with others, but no reported solution yet. I'm currently talking to someone with the EA live chat, and we haven't yet pinned down the source of these activation prompts (the failure to log-in likely stems from being connected to a proxy server).

Additional Specs:

Dragon Age 2 Retail Disk (Signature Edition)
Lenovo Win7 PC
i7 Processor Q740 @ 1.73 GHz
6MB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5730

Last little update: They say the re-activation prompts are due to proxy error. This started before I was connected to any proxy. So...any other ideas?

I have a similar problem. I type in the same email and password that allows me to log into bioware and I still am unable to activate the game. I always get the invalid email or password response. I have disabled antivirus put my pc in a dmz all to no effect. I have also installed patches including game exe v1.03. At this point I have to say EA games generallly suck to install as I had a hell of a time with Bad Company 2 as well.

I should clarify I am typing in my EA account and password to activate the game and not bioware as I just posted.

Your EA and BioWare email and password should be the same. You have registered the game here, so that is the account info you need to enter. If you have different login information for your EA account, EA customer service can merge the accounts for you.

I had this problem too-- I will tell you, once I managed to get to an internet cafe and proxy through to a US server and /then/ try, it let me log in, but this whole suddenly needing activation again is bull****.

Sorry I can't help at all. Do you have a private server stateside you can use to proxy through to to try and reactivate it that way?
