How about Hawke as a parent?

My guess, if Hawke had a daughter, (s)he'd name it Leandra, or maybe Bethany if she's dead.
Also as much unprotected sex as Isabela has its a wonder she doesn't have kids. She must be infertile or something cause even the hookers at the Rose have kids.

The PC having a child could be... interesting, but a child just showing up between acts? No way. It would need a *massive* conversation before to make it make sense, which has so much potential to be terrible.
Then again, there was Aerie, that was... something.

No it wouldn't. It would just need a little more commentary from Varric. Something like, "And not long after Hawke became the Champion, (s)he and {Companion} became parents. Named the little nugget after his/her mother/father/brother/sister. Hawke was determined to prove a great parent, and (s)he did. "
Not to mention how it can deepen the plot of the game.
Meredith could claim that the child is in danger for having a mage parent. Orsino could use it as a claim that mages aren't as dangerous because they can raise children. Hawke's enemies could try kidnapping the little tyke and end up dead.

They force the player to want children? Bad move, if you ask me. I can accept major events being out of my control, but I want control over my own character, a lot more than three different shades of "I want children!", certainly. The Grey Nayr wrote...

I try to avoid throwing around ultimatums but that would be a definite non-purchase if I couldn't even have a say in something like that.

Fix'd, because Hawke couldn't be bothered to walk a few feet and save anyone.

Fenris isn't even emotionally mature enough to talk about his relationship with Hawke.
Merrill is obsessed with her mirror.
Anders.
So...no. No babies, please. Especially stealth babies out of nowhere.

"Daddy/Mommy! You're home! I've missed you! Did you get me a pressie? Come on, please!?"
Ah, yes. Good times.
But then I stop smoking crack and successfully complete rehab.
No... way... in... hell...

That said forcing a child on someone as part of a story is stupid. I respect peoples want to roleplay someone who doesn't want or hell even can't have children. Too bad a lot of them can't respect my position and have to be jackoffs about the issue.

I'm definitely not a fan of the forced kids thing either.

THIS!
I am not interested in playing any game that enforces a stereotype that women do not reach their empowerment unless they breed.

Point.
Someone needs to make Hawke a GW stat. He can't be trusted with children.

Sadly that only makes it incredibly hard for him to sire a child, but not impossible. It's only impossible if his LI is also a GW.
But I want to see little Merrill babies so I say we just kill the incarnation of Hawke we saw.
