KOTOR 2 needs to be made...

I played the first KOTOR over the past few weeks, and I absolutely loved it about as much as I loved DA:O. Then, I made the mistake of buying the piece of crap that is called KOTOR2:TSL. KOTOR2 is to KOTOR what Highlander 2 was to Highlander. We need to just pretend like it never existed, and get a REAL sequel to KOTOR from people who know how to make games. (Though DA2 sucked compared to DA:O, but I digress...)
I know BioWare is hard at work on TOR, but I really hope we can see another single-player KOTOR release, with today's technology (and built-in WS support), that carries on the story of Revan, Bastila, and the rest of the crew.
I think BioWare's crowning achievement is going to be with the ME trilogy, because you get to follow the lives of the same characters over three "seasons" of storyline instead of just dropping everything to be shoved in the middle of a completely different group of people that you neither know nor care about.
So, come on BioWare. Get TOR out there, then give us the single player RPG we need.

It's all water long under the bridge, well past being a suitable basis for any kind of sequels, or else the plain Xbox version would've been updated to Xbox360 . .

I wonder if anyone will use the DA:O toolset to make a Star Wars TC. The source material is already there if you have all of the games.

Google found nothing new.

The story is bad, IMO, but the worst part is that it's the buggiest piece of software I can ever remember trying to use. Even running in true Windows XP (won't start at all in Win7), I have to save my game every few seconds for fear of a random CTD.Anihilus wrote...
TSL is pretty good once you add the RCM to it...
It's like Origin said, "That was a great story, BioWare, now we're just going to stomp all over it into the ground..."
Mass Effect was so much better. I knew who I was at the beginning of ME2. I cared about the character already. It's like the Zelda or Mario franchise. I'm sick of games where I have to spend the first half-hour or more trying to figure out why I care about the character.
My only hope is that BioWare feels that the ME3 engine is "good enough" for them to continue supporting with major "expansion packs" and DLC for the long term, like you see with MMOs.
I want to see a MSPORPG (Massively Single-Player OFFline RPG). You cover "new gamers" by bundling the main game with expansion(s) every few years. Look at how WoW handled its battle chests, and even how BioWare handled its DA:O Ultimate Edition.
I'd pay $40 in 2014 (if the world is still around) for a full-featured new Mass Effect 3 campaign with at least as good a plot as ME3. My only worry is that they will allow the ending(s) of ME3 diverge too much to effectively continue. I suppose it would be as easy as just adding new sectors to the game map, where your previous decisions don't really matter so much. When you venture back to charted space, you can have a few new interactions that fit.

The "end of everything" scenario is too overplayed. The original trilogy had the same situation. There's one last hope...Anihilus wrote...
..Am I the only one who holds TSLs story in equal appreciation to BioWare's KOTOR 1 story? Yes the party memebers in TSL were cardboard cutouts compared to the kOTOR 1 characters (with the notable exception being HK47) but I liked the overall atmosphere on TSL. Dark, and uncertainty in uncertain times, only a few Jedi still alive the entire fate of the galaxy, and indeed the Force in your hands. That's a good story and a new direction from KOTOR 1 which was about the end of the Jedi Civil War. But I am currently feeling so-so towards TOR. KOTOR 1 was like ANH, KOTOR 2 was like ESB... wheres our KOTOR version of ROTJ? I'd take that over a MMO any day of the week.
I have to admit that, had KOTOR2 come out before KOTOR1, I wouldn't have hated it so much. On its own, it's sort of decent, but it is a massive failure as a sequel to KOTOR. Also, I hated Kreia. I wanted her to die. I wanted Mira to die. I wanted Atton to die. About the only characters I could put up with were T3, Handmaiden, and Visas. It annoyed the heck out of me that I was FORCED to take on all of the hitchhikers. At least you had choices in ME.

Only Obsidian could've done that.

They were hardly "cardboard cutouts". They were some of the most memorable characters in the Star Wars universe. BioWare can make some great characters but they are far from the best.

TSL is basically the Empire Strikes Back to KOTOR 1. Dark, complex, with no simple answers. It introduced one of the greatest Star Wars and video games in general character of all time - Kreia, along with an absolutely stellar plot. TSL's only problem was the unfinished ending, courtesy by Lucas Arts and rushing the game for Holiday season.
I think 2 had a great ending if you didn't destroy the sith planet. Atton Rand says at the end something about where are we going now. I shut down all the HK units at the factory, lol. Anyway, I liked 2 so much better than one. I don't know how people who played a female Revan got all the choices I've seen on Youtube because I certainly didn't. Half way through the game, Carth stopped talking and could only say all I care about is *forgot the name* or his son even after I did his quest. I did mod the crap out of 2 though and it was excellent after that. So much fun. Waiting for the last mod to be released before I play it again. I will never play 1 again. I didn't find it interesting.

Unfortunately it looks as though BioWare is intent on defecating all over the characterisation of Revan laid down in TSL as we've seen from the timeline videos for TOR, and I suspect they hold the same level of respect for most of the rest of that game. Frankly I'd rather see Obsidian handle KotOR 3.

I'm big KotOR fan (yeah, evan made few paper RPG sesions and fanfics) and i'll never forgive BW what they do to it with SW:TOR.
SW:TOR to fail!
KotOR3 by OE for win!
