It may just be me, but all Reapers kind of look the same to me. :P

Souvereign definitely has the cooler voice, but that's hardly physical, is it?

As for powerful, that can be measured in multiple ways. Level of indoctrination, physical strength etc. We have seen far more of Souvereign's effect than of Harbinger's. Souvereign was in our galaxy for a long time and all the while managed to gain people for his cause. He would have pulled it off, too, if not for that little kink in the cable... ;)

I actualy like this thread, it is hard to say we have seen sovereign in battle but not harbinger, I am guessing sovereign would be the older of the two as I have a feeling harbinger was created a few cycles later and sovereign might be as old as the first cycle. I also think that even though EDI speculated that the protheans were not turned into a reaper that harbinger may actualy be the prothean reaper and after he was made the leftovers were turned into collectors, I think that may explain why he is able to control and possess the collectors so easily.

SPOILER. ALERT. :bandit:

We hardly saw Harbinger's powers, and Sovereign's death is still a mystery, I say we should wait for ME3.

Even if Harbinger is 10 times the size of Sovereign, he would still not be nearly as intimidating thanks to repeated dumb lines ("This hurts you!")

Harbinger looks so adorable! I hope I don't have to kill him in ME3. :D

I've always thought of Sovereign as a more combat-effective Reaper. One who was trusted enough to be left behind as the fail-safe guy in case something went wrong with their plan.

Harbinger (annoying as he is) does seem to be more of an actual commander though. I think Sovereign would be more powerful combat-wise, while Harbinger would be the "Higher Ranking" of the two, if Reapers have ranks. Just seems to me that Harbinger is the man with the plan, or at least the Reaper's PR guy :P

Something i just thought of. What if only one reaper is made per cycle. Like they make a reaper from the most powerful species then destroy life and start again so they can keep getting the most powerful species to build their race. Makes sense since Harbinger keeps telling Shepard "We are you genetic destiny." They immortalize the most powerful species of each cycle by turning them into a reaper.

Anywho, back on topic. I think Harbinger would have to be either the oldest or newest reaper. He looks different because he is either a new form or a form that isn't made anymore. And if he is the newest than it makes sense that he would lead the Reapers as the newest and most powerful model. So i would guesstimate that Harbinger is more powerful than Sovereign. But then again he could be the last of his very old kind, the rest having died out in recent cycles because of being less powerful than there newer brethren, and being the eldest he knows best how the game works making him the leader.

I thought that it was said the reapers make multiple reapers from one race and then cleans the galaxy and start the search again. I always pictured they would make anywhere from a dozen to a hundred reapers from one race.

Harbinger has an even number of tentacles.

Sovereign is odd.

Noooo not even, Harbinger would destroy Sovereign easily, Sovereign is just a reaper, well they all are, but i mean he is a normal reaper, like the ones you see invading Earth, there is nothing special about him. Harbinger is way more powerful in every aspect, and i personally think Harbinger is pretty sick, his lines in ME2 might have gotten annoying but they were intimidating in a way

Additionally, Harbinger looked similar to a keeper! Fun little side note :D

-"The reaper called Harbringer is believed to be the oldest and largest in the Reaper armada."

-"Alliance intelligence has tentatively identified Harbringer as one of the Reapers leading the attack on Earth."

1. Rachni existed in previous cycles. Javik confimed that.
2. Reaper CORE looks like the species of they are made off (in ME2 it was core/embryo, not the finished Reaper). The core is inside the reaper, so you can't see it. Final layout of reaper is the core inside the exoskeleton, that looks all the time pretty much the same, because that shape suits their needs the best.
