I didn't do Tali or Jacob's loyalty missions because those were things that could wait until AFTER we had saved the world.  Jacob had dealt with his father's death 10 years ago, and Tali will either return from this mission a hero or die a martyr...either way, situation with her father under control.

I also sided with Jack, losing Miranda's loyalty despite the fact that I had been trying to romance Miranda.  I did have a quick fling with Jack though, and I thought Miranda could handle herself better than Jack could, mentally speaking.

And I failed Thane's mission, purely by accident.

So I had an unloyal Tali, Jacob, Miranda, and Thane.

I was sure not having the upgraded medical bay was going to screw me, but it turned out I had all the upgrades I needed, so everyone survived that section.

I sent Tali in the vents.  She was technically-minded, small, and had an enviro-suit.  Plus, I didn't really like her.  Made sense.  I never even considered that Legion would have been a better choice.

Chose Garrus to lead Bravo team.  He never gave me any drama, always followed my orders, had experience, and had become my best friend.  I trusted him entirely.

Brought Mordin and Legion with me.  I wanted their abilities to coldly calculate options, in case anything came up.

Tali died for not being loyal.  Of course, I assumed at the time that the death toll could have been much higher (bravo team unscathed, etc), so I took that as a win.

Discovered half the crew had died, including my favorites...Kelly, Gabby, and the Cook.  Frankly, I had assumed they were all dead, but that still hurt.

Had Miranda as my biotic.  Asked Samara to escort the crew since I figured she could do the same bubble trick on a bigger scale.  Took Thane and Legion with me through the seeker swarm.  Had Grunt lead the distraction team. He was one of my favorites, and he was always asking for a bigger fight, so I figured leading the distraction team would be PERFECT for him.

Miranda failed and Thane was taken away by the swarm.  I hated Thane's character, and felt it was fitting that a hitman seemed to be carried off into hell.  Found out Samara and the crew made it safely back to the ship.  Yay.

...and then Grunt died right in front of my eyes.  "Good fight, Shepard.  Good fight."  And I was CRUSHED.  Tali was boring, Thane was evil...but Grunt?  GRUNT?  Why in the WORLD did I send a BABY to lead a distraction team???

I was a shell of a man when I asked Mordin and Legion to accompany me to the final battle.  When we finally killed the terminator baby, and Mordin started to fall, I panicked...because the one person I liked as much as I liked Grunt was Mordin.  I caught him, but then the whole platform collapsed, and I figured we were all toast.

But I got back up...and then Legion did...and finally Mordin did too!  We all ran to safety, and Mordin caught me, repaying the favor for having saved him...a very satisfying payoff that my favorite character was the one I saved and the one who saved me...especially when I found out he has a high tendency of death.  However, when I got back on the ship and started wandering around, I discovered that Miranda...the one I had been pursuing as a love interest...had not survived holding the line.

DEATHS:
Tali - Rocket to the face
Thane - Seeker Swarm
Grunt - Shot leading distraction team
Miranda - Shot holding the line

SURVIVED:
Garrus - Led Bravo Team
Jacob - Unloyal!
Jack - My quasi love interest
Legion - With me in the whole scenario, survived the fall
Mordin - With me most of the time.  Saved him from falling, he saved me from the same fate
Samara - Escorted the crew

Lost the whole crew, didn't send an escort. Bit lame that the crew (20 people?) can't even survive some collectors that one of my squadmates could have hold off. But anyway, had Thane in the vents (I guess more people make that mistake) and used Miranda for the Biotics, which costed me Samara (yes I felt dumb after that). The rest survived cause they we're loyal and I kind of guessed Jacob would be a good leader.

Legion got a fireball to the face because I chose Samara as team leader.

first time I used logic without looking anything up. Legion went in the vents... what is better at tech than a geth? Samara and Tali went with me and I chose my bro Garrus to lead the 2nd squad instead of Miranda. Jacob escorted the crew back, didn't trust him for much else. Samara gave a barrier for me, Jack and Tali. everyone held the line while me, Legion and Tali finished them off and I told the Illusive Man to suck it. no casualties. Oh and got some quarian booty in there somewhere.

I somehow managed to fail the mission by talking about 'Justicars' and 'Family', because I didn't update Thane. They seemed totally reasonable to me at the time.

Image IPBImage IPB I'm guessing you didn't speak to Samara when she said "she's attracted to talented people" or those with an air of danger?

But yea, I had an unyoal Jack and unloyal Thane going into the final mission. Had all my ship upgrades, chose Miranda and Garrus as the leaders, Tali as the tech, Mordin as the escort. I had to take Tali and Kasumi to the final boss fight cuz (I kno, lame) I knew they were the worst defenders. I didn't realize they provide NO help when the Reaper larvae awakens.....

On the first play through I made the mistake of using Miranda for the biotic field and lost Grunt  He was the only death though.

Did all loyalty missions, destroyed the base.

I bossed it, no team losses. Lost the crew though because I didn't go straight through.

used my boy (Garrus) as fireteam leader he didn't disapoint, Samara as the biotic, Legion as the tech specialist (To me him and Tali were the best options, but Legion can handle himself in a firefight). Send Zaeed to escort the doc back. Cained the Reaper, blew the base, went the citadel, splashed some drinks, got roudy.

The only people that died for me was Garrus (unfortunately, due to unloyal Jack in the seeker swarms area), Jack (I don't like her anyway), and Mordin (I guess he couldn't hold the line...). I destroyed the base, told TIM to pi$$ off, and I vowed vengeance for Garrus's death!

I didnt have jack or thanes loyalty and i sold legion to cerberus for credits, Jack got killed when i picked her as an escort for the crew survivors, and thane got shot when i picked him as the squad leader. Defeated the collectors but agreed with the illusive man about keeping the technology of the collectors. Went back to my cabin threw on marvin gaye song "lets get it on" and invited miranda up.

I lost Legion. Sent him into the vents but he died. I thought it was because I hadn't upgraded his gun but later realised that it was because he had lost loyalty in the argument with Tali since I didn't have enough paragon points. I'm not sure that if in the same situation I had sent Tali in whether Legion would have lived through everything else or not.
