I just defeated the Desire Demon and was reading the updated Codex entries when I found something curious in Isolde and Connor's.

According to their entries, Isolde gave her life to save Connor. That's very peculiar though since I just spoke to her and in fact this is not how the story played out at all.

I'm thinking this is a bug, perhaps, and another possible outcome that somehow wound up in my save game when in reality it's not what happened. Anyone else had this happen?

I'm hoping it won't affect the end-game for me.

Yeah, it's a bug. I think it says she gave her life to save Connor no matter what you do.

Oh okay, phew. I was a bit worried there thinking the end-game would come and it would affect it somehow. Thanks for the prompt reponse.

I am having this problem presently. I'm trying to do a perfect play-through for Dragon Age 2, but this codex thing is bugged, and it messed up my last epilogue, where Connor is supposed to study magic in Tevinter.

C'mon and patch it.

not quite. I killed her to save Connor on a recent playthrough (was deliberately taking evil options, but being a non-mage couldn't side with the demon) and the codex claimed that the mages (despite being dead) saved Connor and Isolde was alive and well

I got that ending, but isn't it also dependent on who you side with at the end? I know it's bugged for a Magi Grey Warden depending on who you side with.

Yes, the codex is wrong. If Isolde dies, then it says she lived; if she lives, then it says she died.

I'm pretty sure the codex is bugged, so yes the game does remember your choice accurately. The slide for Connor going off to become a mage and going to Tevinter, however, is dependant on Arl Eamon returning to Redcliffe. I know he returns to Redcliffe if Anora is made solo queen (he only sticks around in Denerim to help Alistair, married or solo, settle into being King) but I'm not sure if there's another condition which makes him return. Possibly he returns to Redcliffe if Isolde gave her life in the blood ritual? Not sure.

Doesn't really make sense to me WHY staying at Denerim rather than Redcliffe would mean Connor doesn't get sent to the Circle, but there it is...

Arl Eamon returned to Redcliffe when my Grey Warden spared Loghain and had a personality hardened Alistair marry Anora (and he asked for the Circle of Ferelden to be given it's independence). Isolde and Connor were both alive.

Similarly for me- hardened Alistair and Anora married, Loghain redeemer ending. I didn't stick around to be Chancellor either (can't remember what my boon was actually...maybe to be made Teyrn of Gwaren? Or I turned it down?). Eamonn still returned to Redcliffe.

well if it's just the codex bugged i don't think it'll affect the choices your warden made for DA2 (hopefully)
