Showing a guy actually switching between a Wii-mote and the Wii-U-mote-thingy didn't help matters either. I'm not sure what they were going for at all by hiding the console itself. Devious bastards.Twitchmonkey wrote...

From what they said though it sounds like the console has to be on and you probably can't get very far from it before the controller stops working. So its not really going to be competing with the 3DS and Vita for on the go gaming.
The game designers talking about it somehow managed to make it sound worse. Especially that one guy who claimed he could finally now play a game in bed with headphones on while his wife sleeps.
The message seemed to be "this is not a handheld, it's meant to be used with with something else, which we aren't even going to acknowledge so you'll just assume it's meant for the Wii, now look at all these games you can play on it, just like you could a handheld" and then the whole first bit gets lost and people just assume it'll be like the Vita's transfarring. I guess they've got people talking, even if it's just to utter a WTF.
Speaking of the controller, it looks huge. Microsoft released a smaller xbox controller because people complained about the first being too big to comfortably use. This thing looks about as big as a Jaguar controller from what I've seen, it looks really uncomfortable.
Nintendo's new motto should be "Making gaming a confusing chore that may cause headaches." Thats basically what they have done with the Wii, 3DS and now this.
It's not that bad. Most people play the Wii just fine without confusion although game developers keep putting motion controls where they don't belong. Also, the 3DS isn't a hard concept to grasp. It's a more powerful version of the 3DS with 3D added on to it. Hence the name, 3DS. I think people are just upset because Nintendo didn't explain it well enough. Besides, Nintendo has 3rd party support now. It couldn't all be bad.

The Wii U looks good for ultra casual gaming but where's the hardcore 3rd party support? Meh...
It's got Ninja Gaiden, a couple of Resident Evils, BF3, Tekken, Assassins Creed, Darksiders 2, and Arkham City, what more do you want from Nintendo?

So far I've found short of a couple of games, all of E3 so far has sucked majorly.

Why can't it have those games, though?

I was wondering if anyone from Europe got a stream working for E3 skyrim.
Apparently the stream will be only available for american citizens!

I meant the confusion was coming from the Wii-U, 3DS causes headaches and the Wii is just a chore to play on (I had one it was easily the worst console I've owned and I had a Jaguar).Capt. Obvious wrote...

This E3 has made me worry for the future of core gaming. I don't want to flap about, look at a seperate screen in my hand while playing or shout at the screen. I just want a joypad, a console and a tv.

Maybe you can try using a web proxy that makes your IP look like it is coming from the US.
Otherwise it will probably be available as an archived video after the live stream is over.
Does this link work for you?
