Meh. Its just a prettier way of rifle butting someone.

After a dozen times of the slow mo most people probably won't even notice it anymore.

What I do hate though is how the whole omni tool is the logo for BioWare and EA, I dislike the way they do these things in other EA games, its just ...yuck.

All third person action games these days have solid melee mechanics (GoW chainsaw, Uncharted Qte's) Mass Effect needed some desperately if only to keep up with the times, also it's not only awesome but 1.000 times better than elbowing people.

Well, Adepts will have a biotic version of the omni-blade. Don't really know what Vanguards will have, though.

Omni Saw gets bonus points for having an attractive woman in tight pants for no reason what so ever.

Also, good on them for showing kiddies how to get into safes.

I wouldn't mind the omni-blade if someone could explain to me how it actually works . When I first heard about ME3 having melee take downs I envisioned Shepard using some kind of advanced synthetic blade to pierce gaps between enemy armor plating/neck areas.

Then I saw the wrist-watch light show . I was thinking Shepard would have a smaller version of what this gal has:

i actually loved it a lot.
it's something different and new.
i would not be impressed to see a light saber like star wars, or sword like metal gear solid.

omni blade is something simple and new.

i like it just as it is.

 I know its late in the day to say, but I think it would be better if, say, Vanguard had a biotic punch. Adept could just hold their hand to the enemies chest and Warp their whole body causing them to collapse (or something like that)

I think the omni-blade would be alright if it just took down your enemies shields since it is holographic.

Infiltrator should be able to take human shields with a plain old knife (though a space-knife). Ala Sam Fisher and Solid Snake seeing as they're the model for the class (I suppose).

I thought that the Omni-blade looked awesome, there's always been melee in ME just that there has been very little incentive for using it. This might just tip the scales.
