I gotta admit that I was really like WTF the first time I saw it,but now I'm cool with it,as long as we get some proper explanation in Codex.

What do you think of mine?

Not bad at all. A little more technical terms to fool me:P,and we're cool.

Well, a clean SOG knife is always glowy, but they seem to prefer keeping it clean.

I personally find the ability to stab someone in the face/back very satisfying. This news makes me very happy.

If I recall correctly, on stealth based missions, knifes are used that have a blackened surface to minimize light reflection and the likes.

Though a normal, well polished knife has the utility to blind opponents at times (without stabbing their eyes I mean), an "invisible" or see-through material maes this point rather mute. And even if not, why add extra lighting?

I liked the Omni-Blade... it makes sense that if some disco orange colour can block and stop you from being shot, you can use it to kill peoples like a bad motherf*cker*. it's like virtual solid but with a nice colour. I was much more worried about that Kinect Horsecrap and my fears came true, less worse than I imagined but still enough to makes me buy the game on PC instead of on Xbox 360 like I usually did. I'll buy E.T Atari 2600 before I'll buy a kinect Compatible title.

* : Mass Effect 4/Spin Off needs Samuel L. Jackson as the main character !

Very interesting, if there is indeed some sort of stealth mission in ME3, then you would be right that the light should be turned off.

I guess there´s an hologram because in game it would feel weird to take down an enemy with a punch that doesn´t even connect. Although they could also have used the shield effect, you see them when they are hit. Thus OB could be invisible and turn briefly translucent when it hits the target.

I have many opinions about the introduction of the omni-blade.

- Someone from marketing decided that we needed more Ezio in our Shepard
- Every Mary Sue needs a katana these days, I guess, and this is ours
- Yet, stabbing people in the face = good times

Is it confirmed each class will have a different melee?

Yes, each class will have a unique heavy melee attack!

All I've heard so far is the Omni-Blade thing and a stupid Biotic user version (Warp Blade thing) that negates the entire point of Biotic abilities.

As far as concepts where going, bayonets where applicable extensions for rifles in ME3. Don't know for sure, but it seems they have forsaken that for their special melee attacks.

I still hope we get bayonets!

While the omni-blade looks really awesome, it also doesn't make sense... A hologram to the face would do no damage at all... I can't wait to see the other variants of sword attacks!

Neofelis, I have to say that your signature does contradict you, but not for that reason.

Drones hurt people, right? Why? Because they have physical components. Hell, in order to be visible, they'd need something to be projected from, and that's clearly not the omni-tool, since they can go way too far from you, and in angles, where light projected from your own omni-tool wouldn't work.

Omni-tools must have components for those reasons (from ME1, there are much more from ME2):
a. Projection
b. Transmission of Information
c. Flashlights

Therefore, we have three facts:
a. Omni-tools have some physical components
b. Drones have some physical components
c. Therefore, the physical components of the drones are produced from the physical components from the omni-tools.

I would have to go with this proposed model:
Image IPB
It's irrelevant, but it's still cool, and I thought that you'd find it interesting.

Anyway, in the case that the omni-blade works just like the drones, then that's it, problem solved.

If it doesn't work in that way, then it would have to be a transparent material with mini-robots (just like the drones) projecting the haptic interface, and well, I don't see how that's an issue either.

I sincerely hope that this helps. ;)

How does biotics having the ability to make a warp blade... negate the point of biotic abilities?

Why the glowing? It serves no purpose, whilst no glowing would enhance the immersion. Is it so hard to see my point?

No, but I simply choose to not care if it "breaks immersion" (which I don't think it does because is such a small detail, and considering that everything else in Mass Effect glows.)

If a Biotic has such fine control of their Neurons (small electrical currents in the brain) that they can create such a small, localized and stable Mass Effect Field as a 'Warp Blade' then why bother lifting and throwing enemies?  Might as well just create one of these 'Warp Blades' directly inside of an enemies head.

I find it odd that the omni-blade is a hologram. I had the impression that all holograms in the Mass Effect series were not solid and that all interaction with them was via force feedback gloves which relied and knowing the position of the projected hologram and the user's fingers.

1.  I suspect each unique version will be the sam everison reflavored.  Bitoic knife instead of tech blade, flame lash is just a fire version etc.

2.  Do you actually expect them to biotics to be internally consistent when the rule of cool is on the line!
