WHY DID NO ONE REACT THIS WAY TO THE SHADOW BROKERS SHEILD?
Its the same principle and is not new in any wway, shape or form

*Shadow Broker snip*

Probably the fact that the Shadow Broker reveal itself was already an enormous asspull, just saying.

Sure, OP, I agree...but hey.

It's a damn game, so it can light up and stab people all it wants.

Omni-blade makes more sense than an actual blade to me. Shepard is going to be moving and fighting a lot faster, probably won't have time to wipe out knifes out of his pockets like a certain Middle Eastern Assassin.

He'd want something constantly there that he can just whip out whenever and that doesn't need constant replacing. Besides, if it mimicked the design of an actual hidden blade with being an actual retractable blade strapped to his wrist, Bioware would have a law suit on their hands.

Playing as a vanguard constantly, I'm really excited about this new toy I get to have. I hope we still have charge as well to make for double killing efficiency

Not all classes get the Omni-Blade. The Adepts get a Biotic Palm Strike for example. So it is safe to assume that Biotics get Biotic oriented melee attacks.

Maybe the Engineer can just smash the Omni Tool on something.

I'd like to see the infiltrator have an electrocution melee, bonus points if it makes the enemy skeletons flash when you kill them.

Man these forums all ways finds something to whine about my opnion on it? I really don't care personally i think it looks cool and thats enough for me.

There are many reasons to like the Mass Effect series, one being its superior Sci Fi storytelling. This, in turn, will attract many closed-minded, perfectionist, sci-fi finatics (myself included), and also have every sci-fi aspect of the games questioned. As soon as I saw that the omni tool was being turned into a blade I personally was a little mad, but I'm going to leave it up to Bioware, who hasn't let us down yet, to explain to the sci-fi nutjobs (again, myself included) exactly how it is possible.
If I was simply to comment on how it looked and the "coolness" factor, ya, I'd say it looked pretty badass.

Stop kidding us, BioWare.

And this too:

So much for originality.

Also Omni-blade is a insult to my intelligence, could've been so much better just with a actual physical blade.

So an element that only needs electricity to bend space/time is perfectly fine, but as soon as the devs don't explain something 0.1 seconds after revealing it "Oh well it's clearly a load of bs"

The Omni-tool can make anything with omni-gel. It's not within the realms of impossibility that it could make an ultra-piercing knife. The yellow/orange glow is clearly cool factor, which will have an in-universe explanation, just like element zero glowing blue.

I personally thought the omni blade looked sweet. The lore makes sense when you think about the tech armor, kinetic shields, and omni shields. The whole monomolecular thing mostly makes sense too.

Geez, lighten up.

It's a science fiction game with a bad ass blade, where's the downside?

I just think they could have been a little more careful...  The beauty of the sci-fi in the ME universe it that you read it and think "Oh, well that makes sense!" and it pulls you in a little more, but I've yet to find an explanation for the any of the many questions the omni-blade raises... lol
