Here in Brazil the dates are quite confusing.

There are release dates in 15, 16, 19, 23, 25 of march. And even an april 4 and 5. So it's a mess, i guess it does not have an official distribuitor in here and every store is importing on their on. Image IPB

The digital sales however, they all have dates to send the key on march 9.

I decided to import it from gamestop, should get here in 1~2 weeks after the US release.

Hah! I'm from Brazil too. Well, yeah, the realese dates here are quite a mess. Some store/retailers just recive the game 1 mounth after the realese. So i need to buy on PS3, sad.

What I dont get is that I pre-ordered it on digital download - its already installed - and just needs activating. But I can't play until Friday as thats the official release date in the UK. Thing is if I have been able to install it then why couldnt they just do a worldwide release today - as presumably it should work...?

I get my CE today, installed.
Now waiting patiently for Origin to let me play. But I can't help wondering why is the EU release later when the clients already available.

Dividing Europe release date on two different days is annoying as hell. At first I thought reason for late European release is language translations however main English speakers of Europe getting the shaft and have to settle with latest release day in the world.

I am trying to find a reasonable explanation for this seperation but can't find any. If I opted for illegal means I would be playing game by now, instead I feel like I've been punished for being a customer.

By the way, Bioware should communicate better with Origins mailing department. The mail they sent says game will be available on 8th but whenever I try to activate game it says 9th March 2012, 02:00.

Conclusion:

- I could say I'd never buy any Bioware game but I can't as I am looking forward to play Dragon Age 3.
- Please set global release day for Dragon Age franchise games instead of  this illogical system. At least set one release day for Europe.

Highest Regards

Thank you!
After countless hours in DAO and ME1 with all DLC, numerous playthrough of ME2 with all DLC, willing to support Bioware with the hope that DA2 was just a mistake, I pre-ordered de digital collector edition, and while the bonus content is sitting on my hard drive since march 2nd, I still have to wait till friday to finally access any content while the game is already out... geez, Bioware, please! I paid extra bucks and have to wait longer?? can't even access the bonus contents to wait until then?? have you really thought this through?
You definitely lost me this time.
So long, Bioware.

Solution:
VPN to Korea, activate the game and enjoy!
Try FlyVPN: It is free for 20mn and they even give you a user/pass to use it with. (You can turn off the VPN and forget all about it as soon as your game has launched for the first time).

Stupid moronic limitation for European that has no value at all except for pissing of customers who are willing to pay for the game...

Clearly, we're in 2012, this is so 20th century FFS, and the music/movie/game industries wonder why their content is so popular on P2P...
It's like TV series, I remember John Doe being a hit in Europe but since it wasn't released at the same time as US, where it was a flop, they discontinued it, same for V... really pissing me off all this BS.

Does anyone actually know the real reason for the separate launch dates? Jealousy and revenge towards the old continent? Legal issues? Logistics? What? I am genuinely interested.

Its generally due to legal and logistic reasons. They have to get the game discs and such to all of the game stores across multiple European nations that speak different languages use different money and have different content laws (I'm looking at you Germany), so its not exactly easy or fast to get done. Although yes it does kind of mess with the Digital download folks, they just want to release it at the same time for the real life copies and the digital. But hey, don't beat yourself up over it, the USA gets screwed by Japanese, and European game companies when it comes to release dates, so meh, its just corporate crap.

Let me start by saying how I cannot wait to play Mass Effect 3 as I am a huge fan.

However here is the punch in the gut.

I live in the UK and I pre ordered the official game and paid my money as I always do.

Imagine my disgust when I find out in USA they can play from the 6th and in the UK not until the 9th

Ok this is not too bad it generally happens but when I read on the WWW that people are playing it now by downloading it illegally it upsets me.

In this day and age a world launch has to be possible somehow.

Personally I have always bought all my games in support of the industry but now have a feeling of being taken advantage of by the industry because of Nationality.

I believe other countries also have a later date than the 9th which is upsetting also .Image IPB

I think I owe Bioware an apology. As reason for this ridicilous release dates is not them but EA.

So I don't think I will buy any EA games (so long my Sims collection) but stick with only Bioware.

I don't understand this EA hate. EA is a publisher company that has great games to offer (I find that 90% of the games I play are EA games). They are doing something well in a very competitive and dog-eat-dog industry (if they weren't, they'd already be dead) and surely they have reasons for doing things. Of course they want to maximise profits. That is one of the most basic and self evident maxims of economy.

EA sells what others develop. Even in the case of good products, selling is not as easy as people think. So you need both ends (developer and merchant) to have a viable product, otherwise, the product (and as a result the developer and seller) will not make it.

EA does well what it does. Even if some people are not content.

I don't think I ever played that, actually. The first EA game I played forwards and backwards was Crysis.

Yes, no controller support means 0 controller support and this means no Mass Effect 3 and no Origin. Thank you Bioware, good job. The next time, i buy my games from McDonalds, because i'm sure, they understand me more.

Thats 1am Gothic - 01:00 is usually used when someone is quoting the 24 hour clock - its military time - so for 8pm you would see either that or 20:00 - hope that helps.
