Add one more to this list, lost all saves on a mage 40-odd hours in. At least the cause is specified so I can avoid it in the future (pending a fix), though I think I'm going to wait before playing for a bit to let the frustration die down. Keeping the autosave in case a way to restore is implemented.

Same here - over 40 hours - GONE. I just LOST my saves. They are NOWHERE to be found!! WTF? Not a single one - it's like my profile doesn't even exist anymore!! All I did was update my Xbox yesterday, and then update my DAO - I haven't played it in a few months. And lo and behold - NO SAVES!!



WTF!?!? I am so bleak about this. How has this not been reported by the mainstream gaming media? BW needs to be named and shamed, and I feel like the need to compensate me for the time I've wasted on their product! I don't even want to play the game anymore cos I've lost too much time and I'm scared it'll happen again. This is friggin' sacrilege, how can they get away with it!?

I used to think BW were the best developers around. Not anymore. they wont fix the glitch, this issue has gone on for 6 months. i have never in my life seen such a severe glitch be casued by such a minor issue.

The latest XBox 360 software update enabled saving game data to a 1 GB to 16 GB USB flash drive. You could save 'non-corrupted' saves onto the USB flash drive every few hours of game play until BW delivers a fix. I will wait for the BW fix before I play this game again.

I'm concerned that I lost my saves BECAUSE of the updates - either the system update or the game update... I had a 16Gb flash drive inserted when I loaded up the game, but at no point did I move or delete any files - they were just gone. I didn't even have a batch of corrupted save files: just NO SAVE FILES at all!!

i shelfed this game and have been waiting since early january... i really did want to play again or at least continue my first game, but after waiting this long, im loosing interest.  might just trade it in.

I ran into this error for the first time last night when I lost about 45 hours of play on my second Mage (of course, it was the character I was planning on moving over to Awakening). It was from downloading the Feastday DLC packs (it overloaded Bodahn in camp) which is too bad because those were kind of fun (the ones that worked that is). I'm not too mad, I just started Awakening with my first Mage and used the Manual of Focus to respec him into my second guy. I'm just shocked that this error has been around so long and 1) no one has been talking about it, and 2) that BioWare hasn't pushed Edge of Reality to get a patch pushed out.

I had that same problem when I downloaded the feastday combo pack. Now all of my girlfriend's saves are damaged.

All my saves are damaged also. I was fighting the last battle in Denerim, saved then switched off, now I can't finish the game. I never even used any glitches.

So I've played 5 characters now, on my 6th - another female rogue, who was to be my final one to play through Awakening - and I decided to read this thread. I thought "Huh, that's weird but I'm so lucky it's never happened to me!". Less than 12 hours later, I update my XBox, try to play my game and Bam! File corrupted.

It would be nothing short of a miracle to see a response from Bioware about the fact that their little "Feastday" combo pack is a big contributor to corrupted saves.

OMG 56 hours in and all of my saves are corrupted... Only had three. This was going to be my character to use in Awakenings. Bioware really needs to fix this. This is not in any way acceptable. I just paid them money for the "Feastday" combo pack and in return I lost 56 hours of playtime. I was in the Arl of Denerims estate. =(

I for one will not buy another Bioware game until they solve this. Unfortunately I don't have any power to show my extreme discontent beyond that. At the very least they could WARN people about this bug if they cannot fix it for whatever reason. Instead I find out about it after it happens to me. And by the way I wasn't using any exploits either.

so i tried to load a save and it was corrupt and I was pissed cause i thought i'd lost 10 minutes of play -- only to try to load any of my saves and find that ALL of them are corrupt and i lost my entire 30+ hour char. if this had been my first time through the game i can't even imagine how pissed i would be. For everyone out there who had it happen on their first playthrough or had it happened with a lot more time in your char, my deepest sympathies...



As it is I can't imagine how bioware can have a game with such an awful bug and not patch it instantly. there is nothing else they should be working on. being able to save and later load a game, ESPECIALLY in a frickin RPG, is the most important thing to not have any bugs.



I feel like printing up a bunch of fancy looking stickers that say 'Saving and loading NOT guaranteed to function properly.' Then I'm gonna take these stickers to gamestop/best buy/wherever and stick them on all the DA:O boxes. not something that bioware would even notice and something that could possibly get me in trouble but damn it sounds like it would make me feel better right now. heh.

For the record, if you try to report this gameplay-destroying bug through Customer Service, this is what you will get:

"Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience you faced this far. I appreciate your concern about the game and as you say if too many players are able to reproduce this issue then yes it may be a BUG but I would like to ask you to please send your valuable suggestions/BUGS on EA forums. As we from customer support do not interact directly to the developers of the game. Hence I request you to please paste your BUGS to our Forums so they can be better looked after."

So, for the record, the level of service provided in this forum is what EA/Bioware employees will actively point you to.  If this is the best that this company can do, I'm happy to get on the phone and see if anyone at EA/Bioware will take accountability.

gd...guess i'm part of this bunch too. Last time I played was in November and I was just finishing up orzimmar (sp?). Started it up today and my saves (and all of my achievements save the first 2) are completely GONE. 32 hours in...
