I'm still not convinced it's a straightforward 'sell to Bodahn' problem - I had about 300 gold at the end of the first play through - not a hint of corrupted save games at all. And no, I hadn't used any exploits - I just picked up absolutely everything and flogged it.



I miss my mage. It's just not the same on replay...



I was thinking of keeping a save at the end of each section (e.g. after completing Lothering, then after Redcliffe, etc.). Anyone reckon this is worth it? Might mean 8 or 9 different saves for each character, but still...

Bodahn is one way, overloading the chest at the keep is another, and a huge amount of saves is also a possible way (over 100 I think). Since the corruption is caused by anything that makes the save file go larger than the set size (17mb I think), there could still be a few other ways that we don't know about. Image IPB

I wonder if they are looking into other ways to stop the corruption, since on the thread about the new patch it only talks about overloading merchants.

Wow, so this game has been out for 6 months now and still no decent support... Way to go, you money-stealing jerks, you just beat Ubisoft in ****tiness! I thought they were pretty bad, taking almost half a year to patch a commonly occurring game-breaking bug in Far Cry 2, but I guess you wanted to set a new record? :)

At least they didn't keep pumping out add-ons and expansions without even fixing the vanilla version of their game.

In any case, you can't give us the excuse that you've moved on to another project completely, because you keep adding on to it. I think that's what upsets people the most: your screwed up set of priorities.



And if you think I'm being unrespectful right now, then you're a bunch of hypocrites, I hope you realize that.

(360) I think that this bug is somehow involved with Shale going to level 11 and (as result) the tavern getting a bit better crystals. After that if you use the crystal exploit things will most likely go very wrong. On the other hand if you use the exploit (as much as possible) before Shale goes to level 11 and not use it any more after that....something to experiment.



Still something which definitely should be fixed.

Correct that: just loaded a save from a period where share was below level 11 (and tried to use the exploit) but the bug still happened. So basically if you use the crystal exploit often enough the game will bug here. Save often and use multiple saves to avoid going into problems.

Unfortunately agreed with Dannyboy here. It's sad that one has to take advantage of a glitch in the game's coding in order to avoid encountering another glitch in the game's coding that corrupts your save files.

Thanks for pointing to the "correct" direction. Apparently making money with items can also lead to problems so need to be careful there.

I wish that I knew beforehand that this game was so....."delicate" (and this is not in a good sense)

I've used the dupe trick on all my playthroughs since I lost all my saves and never had a single problem, just don't overdo it, I've gone up to about 1k gold, which is more than enough for most good items in the game. Best rule for it is, if you won't be equipping it don't buy it because you can get the corruption bug from overloading your chest at the keep.

Eleven Mage Level 17, 60+ hours. Just completed Paragon of her kind.

The computer becomes unresponsive on the load screen to Orzammar.

Prior to that all the characters went black in anvil of the void.

Now all my previous saves c$%p themselves going into Orzammar.

I have sold everything to Bodahn and have Stone Prisoner installed.

Never used a crystal or money glitch.

Is this the same problem everyone is having?

Love the game - hate the repeated bugs.

I'm playing Awakenings, and lately everytime I go into the Wending Wood the game crashes. Has anyone else had this issue?

Yeah I got it too. I beat the game legit then wanted to have fun the second time so I did the gem glitch, took all five of my saves, was so disappointed.
