So I started grinding another character up and am about to start Landsmeet on him. I did not risk doing the exploit and I also made sure that I swapped unload points frequently. When I felt I had sold enough items to a specific merchant, I stopped selling to him. So far so good, no corruption.

HOWEVER, to Bioware, you should be ashamed. You released a game with a horrible bug. How would you like investing 40, 50, 60+ hours of your life into a product you bought from another company and that product malfunctioning? How would it feel to get 0 feedback from that company?

You are responsible for your products and that means having someone acknowledge this issue and post on it. You're also responsible for correcting for your error. Patch the game.

Ignoring the problem will only show people you are not an honest company and are nothing but greedy little cheats who don't care about the time and money people are investing into their products so long as they keep buying them, which won't be long if you keep releasing games with severe issues like this and don't take responsibility for them.

I would like to thank Bioware for this amazing glitch. It happened to me today, and now I'll stop playing this game, trade it in for merchandise credit, and wait 'til a developer with talent comes out with a new game.

this is pathetic !!! BioWare /EA/whoever else is involved with this mess that USA today has announced as game of the year..REALLY???!!!! for the PC version, I bet!!! they actually announced and patched that one!!

It's not like this is a new game that's going to be coming out and they want to play their non/mis-information games with the fans/customers!! This damn game has been out for a month, now.. and still NO acknowledgement / NO word on when or even if there will be a fix for these glitches...especially for the game-breaking "Damaged" saves problem. However, they will get back to you if your codes don't work?!?!?!?! What about getting back to those of us who have been trying to get help/information with this BIG problem?!?!? What a joke!!! I'm tired of this Bull---- !!!!

so much for ME2 !!! you just lost another customer! Time to spread the word on the ME2 forums..."Buyers Beware!!"

Yes, it certainly is poor form for EA, and it also reflects badly on Bioware since their name is plastered all over the game (even though they weren't directly involved with the port on the Xbox 360).

Of course, many of us saw this coming when EA acquired Bioware. I'm convinced that this sort of thing will only get worse over time, and soon enough, the goodwill that Bioware built over many years will slowly dry up until the company is nothing but a shell of its former self.

As consumers, we can take our hard-earned money elsewhere, as well as start blogs or post on forums, voicing our displeasure with the shoddy treatment that Xbox users are receiving with this game.

Pressure the company to fix their mistakes and perhaps they eventually will.

Well, I was enjoying the game, until tonight. I had bought this game for the Xbox, just because it had been sitting there idle for over 6 months now, and I had to justify paying for XBL. I was planning on going out and getting the PC version of this game Sunday, my only day off. Now that this corrupt save has happened and reading that there has been no response concerning this problem, there is no way I am going to go out and buy another copy of a game that has an issue this big.
I have very little time to play games as is. I just can't abide wasting what little time I have doing something over and over because of a programing error that never should have made it past Beta testing.

well, apparently Bioware/EA or who-the-bleep runs the damn forums needs to re-examine them. I cannot post on the ME2 forums 'cause it says I need to activate my account..I click to re-send the activation code (e-mail) follow the link, and ...after following the directions still get the message saying I cannot post as I have to activate my account..AGAIN!!!!! (even though the site welcomes me with my username...!!!) WTF !! they can't even get their forums up right!!! Therefore, after all this frustration, I'm unable to post a warning to potential ME2 buyers about the ******-poor, shoddy, and uninterested support for DA:O

Before I begin BioWare Flamewar 2009 I need to have my facts straight has ANYBODY recieved anyword about from BW about this? For those of you wondering why the PC version has a patch while we do not, Bioware did not actually program this game for the consoles. They farmed it out to a company called Edge Of Reality. Nice of them to do with out extra ten bucks....

Just had this happen to me last night... about 18 hours in... have been using the crystal glitch since I'm too weak to tackle the Redcliffe castle and needed some more potions. Started again from an older working save and doing some troubleshooting... right now I've maxed out the crystals I have... and can save within the tavern... but when I exit and save anywhere the save in Redcliffe or in Party Camp my save becomes corrupt. (And subsequent saves as well...) Don't really want to waste time starting another game if this is going to happen again...

Something is rotten on the state of Edmonton. In farming out devolment of the console versions of Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware has made a huge mistake. There are a legion of bugs plauging the Xbox360 version of the game.Achievements not registering, quest being unplayable, freezing, the dex bug (where adding points to your character does not increase damage for melee weapons) and most egregious of all the vendor bug. If you sell too much of your stuff to any one merchant (like one might do with your in camp vendor) or fill your items chest at wardens keep (created specifically for this purpose) your game corrupts and becomes unplayable. I’ve counted well over 30 people whom this has happned to on the bw social network, and searching the net have found many more. The most disturbing part about this is the lack of support from Bioware when you send them an official e-mail about the incident you get an auto reply saying they will reply within 24 hrs. Several of us are well over 10 times that and not a word. The bottom line is Bioware has allowed EA to ruin them. When an artform becomes run by a corporation everybody suffers. As a game media outlet I implore you to run this story to give voice to those of us BioWare deems voiceless.
My Thanks in Advance,
S.
I have submited this to 1up.com, Ign.com, and Game Informer.com, if anybody wants to back me up here are the links. www.1up.com/do/my1Up games.ign.com/email.html gameinformer.com/p/contactus.aspx

Okay I completed the game on my rogue glitch free. However taking all the knowledge the awesome posters have contributed to this forum I was VERY careful to 'spread the wealth'. I never sold too much to any single merchant, I never did the crystal glitch creating excessive stuff to sell, all was good in the world, long live Alistair the King.

1) I am convinced this is NOT due to the crystal glitch, but due to a code bug where merchants can only hold so much before puking all over the game code.

2) There is a way to get money without creating excess inventory, just need to be quick with your fingers. My BF walked out of Ostagar with over 100 gold in about 2 minutes.

3) PLEASE reply to this: Has anyone started getting E68 errors (a single flashing bar, hard drive error) AFTER their saves went corrupt? I've been getting them recently however I don't know if it's due to the save corruptions.

My X-Box had the ring of death about 2 months or so ago. I got it back and it worked fine. Here's my concern though:

I rented Wolfenstein, threw it in and bam box fried. Got it fixed, rerented the game and had it almost beat when suddenly I couldn't zone anymore without the game crashing. I got worried something might have been wrong with the drive but doubted it since I figured the zoning was taking fresh info from the CD not anything stored in my saves. Along come DAO and I get the corrupt games and suddenly I'm running into E68 errors every couple of days. I can fix it by removing and reattaching my drive but I don't know if this was a pre-existing problem, something that occurred when I sent my box in for repair, or in fact something related to the corrupt files. So, anyone else?

So am I left to believe that this "bug" is a result of using a "glitch" wtf sounds like some serious bs to me. Sounds more like a surefire way to lose a loyal customer if anything.

i never used any glitch, but i did get the corrupt save file. i got it after i sold off some of a bunch of items to a merchant, including some DLC items. i reloaded from an earlier save, and instead of selling the dlc items, i put them in the wardens keep chest. no corrupt save. dont know if its related or not, but seems too coincdental not to be. save after selling dlc items = corrupt, saving after selling everything BUT dlc = not corrupt

This issue needs to be fixed now or else Bioware will suffer because people will refuse to by future games if it turns out like this. I have no hatred for Bioware but this is a Serious issue.

I think it's safe to say that the glitch is related to the DLCs and the DLC is causing a corruption issue. Has anyone tried deleting the DLCs and reinstalling the DLCs to see if the save files reload?

I have no idea what a Crystal Glitch is, and finished Redcliffe LONG ago. I'm underneath Orzamarr (my last quest group necessary) in the Deep Roads. Somewhere between Cardigan's Cross and Orton Thaig, my saves all died. I can go back to earlier ones, but every time I save, my new saves appear corrupt.

The only thing unusual that I got was a "Lost Profile" message when I started playing. I didn't think anything of it, as I was still able to save...I think I even reloaded one of my saves but now I'm not sure.

In any event, there MUST be a way to continue with my previous saves. I can't believe Bioware would just let this sit out here without any resolution. I will be going to Amazon fairly quickly to post a review of this if this is the case. Given this is Xmas season, I suggest everyone else do the same.

EDIT: And no I've never done any kind of glitch that I'm aware of in this game...didn't even know there was some...

EDIT2: and yes, I installed the DLCs, had no trouble with either of them...the last "sale" I did was to the freaked out dwarf in Orton Thaig, but I only sold him one set of stuff, so I doubt he was over-run.

Blame Bioware for catering to the PC first because of 'faster development and release'

Sounds like they want to cater to people who think they are better than us because they are playing on PC.

Personally, I prefer playing from a couch with a very large TV.  Sitting at a computer is far less enjoyable.

But wow...what a frickin REDICULOUS error.  Has anyone been able to recover from this?
