preordered my CE about a week ago at Best Buy no problems.16 more days!

I pre-ordered my copy of Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition for the PS3 on the day of Martin Luther King.

I was introduced to Mass Effect 2 on Christmas Day, meaning that I had no idea that there was a third installment on its way, and in Collector Edition form. So immediately went with, "CARPE DIEM", and acquired $80 and pre-ordered it on Amazon.

Now I have 14 days to wait, and my Springbreak starts on March 5th. What a perfect vacation : )...but I still need to finish watching the walkthrough video of Mass Effect.

Hey guys (and gals), i think we all need to calm down. I'm reading some posts and i gotta say there is a lot of hostility running around. I personaly agree with both opinions but im not yellling at people I'll never meet because im mad. Those of you who have your copy of CE good for you. Those of you who don't, just keep asking for help or try something else. Lets not turn this post into an all out slugfest. its not worth it.

Don't insult me or other people who properly preordered this COLLECTOR'S EDITION (eg. LIMITED) the first moment it was available.
SORRY for being a huge fan of the franchise and SORRY for securing myself a copy of this CE which I will pay with my own money, since I'm employed and receive payment for my work.
Oh, I also have a family, life, etc.

Really? You're embarssing yourself here. Read again what you just wrote. "was gonna be THAT limited"? Do you know how much ME1 and ME2 CE's worth these days? A LOT. Why? Because they were LIMITED. Every Collector's item (book,game,movie,painting,etc. WHATEVER) is SUPPOSED to be LIMITED. You (and every one of you) had a chance to preorder this game a LONG TIME AGO. Sorry if I come off as rude, I'm really not. I'm just trying to make a point that you have no basis for your whining about not being able to preorder this edition a couple of WEEKS before game's release. Reality check everyone...please.

Microsoft (as a publisher) disgraced itself with those overproduces CE's. Ask someone who spent ~150USD (~100GBP) on those editions only to find them A COUPLE OF MONTHS later for 30-50 GBP. Shame and disgust. 
That's why I love Mass Effect's CE's. They truly are limited, as all CE's are supposed to be.

They wont due to contract obligations with the Preorder. Gamestop will not break preorders till 3 day after if not claimed if not paid off. If paid off they can't resell it or you could sue.

GameStop policy is very simple. 
- You are guranteed 48 hours (2 days) to pickup.

If it has not been picked up throughout that time here's the deal.
If I were to come in the third day and ask for it. If it has not been paid off. I can then claim it. If it has been paid off. GameStop MUST call you to confirm if you are going to pick up the product or not. If you are not I can then claim it. Also note: GameStop located within shopping malls have a different policy than those who are standalone stores due to they usually get reservations by foreigners. They usually hold it for about a week.

This is how I was able to obtain a Batman: Arkham City Collectors Edition. Once I had that experience I pre-ordered ME3 first week of January. Also it's only $5 down payment to pre-order the game. So don't know why some have really complained. I have yet to pay it off myself.

Here's an interesting note:
The Collector's Edition Content nor Promotional Pre-Orders for ME 2 were not released in the form of XBL Marketplace DL.

PS3 hasn't sold out in too many places. You can find those everywhere. Since ME1 wasn't on PS3 and ME2 was released like a year after PC and 360, most people who are long time fans got it on the 360 or PC. Bioware actually printed too many copies for the PS3 it seems and not enough for the 360 or PC.


Edit: However PC has an "out" by getting the DDE which has everything except the patch and it's all digital. We all get the digital soundtrack. (There is no actual CD in the box, people. There's always that one guy...) I got the soundtrack from a previous BW game and it was provided by a link to download it and it wasn't even in a compressed format.

oh, and I'm glad that Bioware/EA aren't overproducing this. It's a COLLECTOR'S EDIITON. It's supposed to be VERY limited not like ever other CE out there in the last few years. 100 GBP on launch, ~30GBP a couple of MONTHS later (Killzone 3, Gears 3, etc.).

I bet your precious robotic dog and "exclusive in-game/already on the game disc content" will be made available to buy on the xbl marketplace. And if it is than every single one of you, who pre-ordered the CE well ahead of time...are gonna look like complete tools!

I guarantee a lot people who pre-ordered the CE of ME3 for the 360 are going to end having their copy sold to someone else who waited last minute to pre-order. This is all gonna be EA's fault for trying to pull off some kind of marketing stunt. I don't even care about it anymore, cause ultimately I'm going to save me some money by buying the standard, and still enjoy the game even though I'm not going get the stuff that's already on the disc. The CE is an option, not a necessity, nuff said.

I wanted to know what store gets what items before I preorder. I got burned by that before on games. Preorder then find out another retailer has a better item. So I wait until I know who has what first.

I was in a similar situation were I wanted to pre-order Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition with the best pre-order items. Obviously that was GameStop, but they ran out of pre-ordering counts. So I had to act fast and forget about that sweet N7 Warfare Pack, and pre-order the game. And now, those Pre-order items will be available for purchase and download.

People say BW never did a "digital items upgrade" before. Actually their very last release did just that. Offered a 20 dollar DLC to upgrade to the DDE version. Basically the digital items upgrade and no physical items.

I delayed buying the CE, purely because it was being sold by GAME.

Unless that changes, say, somewhere I trust more is granted to sell it - I could perhaps wait until then.

Its disappointing the company I trust the least managed to get such a big deal for a game a very much want.

Exactly. I honestly don't get it. We all know that GAME is in SERIOUS trouble (some people doubt they'll survive 2012.) and yet somehow they still manage to snag those exclusive Collector's Editions. ME3, The Witcher 2 Dark Edition, etc. *shurgs* I don't know how...but it pisses me off. I hate retail exclusivity.

Question: I preordered my CE back in December. I won't be able to get into town to pick up my copy until that weekend. Should I worry about not being able to get my copy? I have the $80 I need to buy it but I haven't paid it off. What should I do? I would like to know soon please, before it comes out. Then, it might be too late.
