I doubt it. The GameStop preorder bonus was the only DLC to not make it to the marketplace.

The Mass Effect on a weather balloon promotion? Seriously, did EA/BW have to get permission from the FAA or something to do this? Though the odds are low to be sure it just seems the remote chance of it drifting into the path of some plane or something had to be considered.

Jarrett Lee posted they have plans to help take away the sting of running out of copies but no specifics. I am guessing it would be just that. PC already has a DDE for "less sting" and the PS3 hasn't even sold out, so that only leaves the 360.

Yea I waited ...two years or so for the collectors armor and weapon ...eventually it was on sale for twelve dollars and I snagged it and was able to use it on my 360 shep...if that's the case this time I'm gonna get both dde and standard for the GameStop preorder and my 360 game disc

The most effective thing to do is, y'know, not buy the damn thing when it comes out. The decisions to release item X on date Y that was developed back in Z are always based on economics. If they see sales of That DLC Package at launch are low enough they'll probably hold off developing future content until after the game is out and on the market.

Bonus post- at least you guys in the US aren't sitting wondering if the sole retailer of your Special Editions is going to go bankrupt within the next few weeks. I hope Game keep their proverbial together until launch.

In my infinite wisdom, I waited too long to order the Collector's Edition. I have the regular version from Gamestop on order but will there be any retail versions of the Collector's Edition available upon release?

You might get luck and pick one up if someone cancels on release day but usually not.

There's no danger of GAME group going out of business before March, Their stock actually rose earlier this month (admittedly it fell significantly first) when their primary lenders agreed on a new deal with them.
Essentially all their banks/lenders expect to see a turn around at some point this year due to the release of new hardware.

I just bought the n7 collector's edition off their website so they still have some available, and I signed the petition. Something as major as that is just ridiculous. and I know I should have voted with my wallet, but this has been the last game I buy from bioware since I picked up DAII, after that I said "I'll finish the mass effect franchise, and let bioware die"

I have canceled my preorder. To leave out something as high profile as the Prothean unless more money is spent on the FIRST day of release no less, well that I just cannot and will not endorse. Bioware was really pushing it with all the DLC for 2 but now its too much. I've been a fan for 9 years. I still have my copy of Star Wars Kotor, the first Bioware game I ever bought. Its sad that looking at it serves as a reminder to when I would buy a game and not get nickel and dimed for it.
Call me entitled but I don't see any unnecessary entitlement on my end. I just want a finished and whole product.

I think they are pissed off about the fact that something that could have been in the game (because it's complete and stuff), gets sold separately. Personally I don't give a damn.

Hell I care so little that I've pre-ordered the Digital deluxe edition and hoping to get the Collectors edition as well.Posted Image

Cost of CE £80, €95,- or $125. (For me)

I think I'll pass. It's annoying how ever darn game has to turn in to a micro (Well, not so micro...) transaction fest and where such content was previously used as an incentive to purchase new; rather than used. It's now used to just add to the revenue.

First I want to apologise if this post rubs anyone the wrong way, I don't want to argue with anybody about this. I'm just stating my opinion, which everyone is obviously free to share or disagree with as they choose, and express those sentiments. As I am with other peoples opinions. That said I will be complaining and some people won't like it, and I may not be as polite about as I'd like due to not sleeping last night (replaying mass effect 1 again).

You can't really argue with all the people that will have this or similar viewpoints, they just won't want to listen.

"Bioware are evile for makeing extra content fo a game and then charging for it"

"it's not a complete game game without it, even though the main storyline of the game remains intact and fully implemented"

I wonder if there was this kind of backlash in the days of neverwinter nights, I mean £39.99 for the main game and then £19.99 twice for the two main expansion packs? This was almost a decade ago so £80 seemed an even higher price, of course I still got them all. Posted Image

Only one thing would make them happy, and that's if they got all the DLC that's included with the N7 in the standard edition, at the standard editions current price, because 'it's not fair that people getting the N7 get it for free'. Well we aren't getting it for free we're paying for it, all that DLC in the N7? We're paying for it, that's why it costs twice as much.

"But" people will say. "But, you're getting the physical stuff such as lithograph, soundtrack, and tin. Along with cosmetic stuff such as the hoodie and the dog in the N7"

Yeah, that's called incentives. Incentives for people to pay the extra money and get the N7 instead of the standard edition and simply paying an extra $10 for the character DLC. Which would be less money than price of the N7 or DDE.

And finally in a supreme case of swings and roundabouts. If all the DLC in the N7 and DDE was included at no extra cost in the SE. All the people like myself paying the extra money would be on here complaining how we want more content, and should get it because we're paying more.
And the poeople who are currently 'taking a stand' by cancellingtheir preorders and not purchasing the game, they would probably be the first to shoot back at us something along the lines of:

"Stop acting so entitled".
"The game is already complete". And so on and so forth. Because it's impossible to please everyone.

But look on the brightside. The DLC is optional, buy it or don't, it's everyones choice. And the SE plus $10 is still cheaper than the N7 purchasers will have paid.

That went on a great deal longer than I at first thought. I still don't want this to become an argument, as this is just my opinion and anyone who actually takes the time to read this is more that entitled (see thatPosted Image) to agree or disagree. And I welcome both contrary and suportive opinions.

You know some people actually have lives...a job, kids, school, etc, and are too busy to be concerned or obsess about a game that's not going to be released until almost a year later...

seriously? you're gonna pull of a "get a life" thing on me? Haha.
Don't insult me or other people who properly preordered this COLLECTOR'S EDITION (eg. LIMITED) the first moment it was available.
SORRY for being a huge fan of the franchise and SORRY for securing myself a copy of this CE which I will pay with my own money, since I'm employed and receive payment for my work.
Oh, I also have a family, life, etc.
Seriously? Just GTFO with that kind of attitude...

Breaking Bad wrote...
If I had known that the special edition of ME3 was gonna be that limited, I would've pre-order the **** before it was even announced. I only pre-order something a month or two before launch. Pre-ordering a game almost a year
before it's being released is little extreme.

Really? You're embarssing yourself here. Read again what you just wrote. "was gonna be THAT limited"? Do you know how much ME1 and ME2 CE's worth these days? A LOT. Why? Because they were LIMITED. Every Collector's item (book, game, movie, painting, etc. WHATEVER) is SUPPOSED to be LIMITED. You (and every one of you) had a chance to preorder this game a LONG TIME AGO. Sorry if I come off as rude, I'm really not. I'm just trying to make a point that you have no basis for your whining about not being able to preorder this edition a couple of WEEKS before game's release. Reality check everyone...please.

Breaking Bad wrote...
The Legendary Edtion of Halo Reach, and the Gear of War 3 Xbox 360 bundle, were supposed to be "extremely limited", but I was able to pre-order those things a month prior to it being released without any problem

Microsoft (as a publisher) disgraced itself with those overproduces CE's. Ask someone who spent ~150USD (~100GBP) on those editions only to find them A COUPLE OF MONTHS later for 30-50 GBP. Shame and disgust.
That's why I love Mass Effect's CE's. They truly are limited, as all CE's are supposed to be.

Dude you're an idiot. Just do yourself a favor and stop showboating...

There's a pretty good chance that their going to make more copies of the CE and release them sometime after launch. I work at UPS, we get the games before GS does, and they get them 1-3 weeks prior to the release date. Over the past few months we've been shipping hundreds and thousands of brand new copies of the CE for Uncharted 3. This is the CE of a game that released back in November...so your argument is f**ked, there will be more.

For those of you who really want the CE for ME3 and can't find a place to pre-order it from before launch, just be patient or go with the stardard for now. Over time more will start surfacing on the web and in stores. Or if don't mind spending some extra money, get it on Ebay.

i completely agree with you john385, and breaking bad those games are not as breath taking and riveting and exciting as mass effect 3, and the series of uncharted is not that good you have to realize that mass effect 3 is going to be the best xbox 360 game ever made. it has the best co-op ever thought of and stunning graphics. the MassEffect trilogy is hands down the best thought up, created, produced, and sold gaming trilogy ever. so for an incompetant imbesile who thought he was going to get his pr order two weeks before release GTFO. your not a true fan. just sayin.

I Pre-Ordered my N7 Edition long ago, like June last year. I can't wait for it. However one gripe I do have is can we as paying Premium Edition Consumers not get access to DLC's either at reduced prices or get download tokens as a reward for our support of going for a better version. Take into account with Mass Effect 2, The Standard Edition comes with Cerebrus Network access, and thus all the applicable free DLC's, yet I had bought a Collector's Edition at Double the standard's launch price and this is with discount I must add, and yet I do not get any real benefit's in terms of content for my outlay? Hopefully somone at BioWare - you guys are doing very interesting things btw and thanx for your years of good games - would take an eye over my querry and maybe we could have some more benefits to the N7 Edition to really enjoy it to the max.

Now all I must do is wait here in South Africa for Launch Day I want to shoot at Reaper's 'till it becomes illegal to do so...

Face the fact. The contents within the Collector's Edition is what you'll get. "What you see is what you get."
There will be no special benefit--except for the Extra Character and Mission DLC--for purchasing the CE. You payed $20 extra for the exclusive DLC, Artbook, Soundtrack, N7 patch, and Litograph. That's between $40 to $50 in extra stuff, but you only payed $20 for it.

Now unless there was a Season's Pass...well that's a different topic.

I am South African, US Dollar has no meaning for me - Except an exchange rate of $1 = R8.00...LOLSWORTHY...To me R8.00 is a bread - living in RSA is expensive. The RRP of the N7 Edition in RSA is around R400.00 / R8.00 per $ = $50, BioWare points is R79.00 per 800 points, with R79.00 that's a weeks bread...and I love games and BioWare, but it's too expensive if you buy something that's supposed to be Limited and special, but you don't really get the full experience unless you lay out more money thereafter - the price I have a problem with not the concept of paying for more, and improved content.

Interesting article BUT the totally wrong. Prothy DLC was not cut from game. so much of the complaining is based on a false idea.
