[The Great and Powerful Trixie]

For those who are hopeful about getting an N7 edition but didn't preorder in time, I called several Gamestop locations in my area and the general consensus seems to be that at midnight madness you can upgrade your standard edition if someone cancels their preorder. One guy I talked to said it happens most at midnight madness because some don't get the money in time so they downgrade their order to standard edition. Not the best of odds, but still worth a try. Hate MM though...

I didn't get the CE as they were all sold out. When I purchased a preorder for a normal copy I figured the full game would have sufficed until I learned that even buying a new copy I was still not getting a full game. Rationalize this all you want but I will not endorse this practice at all. You can act like you're taking the moral high ground all you want but I think you're allowing them to let money over rule putting out a quality product.

my money.....my rules!  I dont remember them placing a chip in my head saying BUY NOW BUY NOW....nor do i recall signing a piece of paper saying that I would subscribe to the mentality of "mob rules" or "peer pressure."   Some folks make it sound like BW and the evil EA overlords are twisting arms, squeezing blood from stones, sticking feces covered bamboo splinters up under the fingernails, or some other outlandishly cruel activity....with the only goal being to Covet Thy Customer's Money!!!

I can either buy it or not...my choice. if the product is shoddy..and i know it is shoddy...i may or may not feel inclined to purchase it. If it is high quality...i may or may not feel so inclined to purchase it.  I wanna buy it....so i preordered the CE back on 6/13/11 knowing exactly what was being offered (and at the time assumed was going to be CE only or available later at a higher price). I dare say....i did a little research.

EXACTLY RIGHT. You like the product, you buy it. You don't like the product, you don't buy.

If you don't want to buy it, your choice. However, don't come here bit*hing about something. You took your liberty, Bioware took theirs. You don't see them saying "aw shucks! MORE PEOPLE NEED TO BUY OUR GAME!!!!!". Geez, some people can be so damn whiny.

Everyone who is saying don't like it dont buy it talk with your wallet. I did just that. Why is it that even when we do that you people that are still buying it act like we should follow in your footsteps? There is just no winning with you people. You say you did research and I don't doubt you did but did you really expect something high profile like a prothean was going to be the special DLC character? Something so steeped in the Mass Effect lore...and they're going to charge you for it. I just can't rationalize that bud. I'll keep my money. It sucks that they're doing this when its the final game but I think its foolish to stand behind it. I supported them. For them to say the character wasn't even developed until 3 months ago even though a DLC character was planned for collectors edition 6 months ago. I smell a bit of a lie.
I hope you enjoy your game. I'm pretty sure it'll be great.

Still wish there were more CE's available for preorder for the 360. Considering that's the platform on which this series got its start (and where all of my savegames for the series are, of course), I feel like they could've upped production on the CE. Still holding out a hope that I may be able to find it someplace, but it seems doubtful.

This is really starting to irk me, the whole thing about the leaked DLC.... Mind you I've pre ordered the Collectors Edition so no worries there. But I'm starting to grow tired of the whole thing about the fact that those who didn't pre order the Collectors Edition feel entitled to have the same stuff as those who did... >> Seriously it getting old fast. and its no fun to listen to you **** about how your going to miss out on it, when you can always just get points/ spend $10 on the thing.

Just paid off my preorder tonight for my CE and now the wait is even worse. I put money on it the day after the CE was announced. It was funny when I showed my wife the receipt of when I first put $10 down. She was shocked about how long I have had this game preordered.

I wish supplies were not so limited so that everyone that wants a CE copy could get one though.

I find it ridiculous that people who have not preordered the CE (aka pay more money) want to have access to the same things. Never the less, Bioware is being nice in giving them the option of getting the DLC for the SE if they want it. Would they have been more pleased if it was a CE exclusive?

Agree or not, buy or not, the reality of this world is you pay more you generally get more. I may not like it but that is how it is. The whole thing about the CE is precisely that. That is why there are (in my opinion) ridiculous CE editions of games with 150E price :S I would never buy them but the Mass Effect 3 CE is not among them and I feel inclined to buy it as it is reasonably priced.

I think you're right about limited supplies.  If nothing else, I remember when DA2 came out you could get the signature edition if you preordered by a certain date.  It would be nice if they would give a specific date by which CEs can still be ordered; one that allows enough time for them to print as many copies as people are willing to buy.

Collector editions generally come with physical content, action figures, soundtrack, artbooks and what have you. Therefore that prothean is not a collectable. It's a marketing decision. Any one else can get it but for a price. It's not going to be in limited quantities like the artbooks and soundtracks. I hope people can see where I'm coming from. I think its lame that to be a longtime fan means I should have to give more money to validate myself.

Well...CE is supposed to be in limited supply, otherwise it really is not a CE.

On another note, it is kinda funny how people were saying, when the CE video appeared that the 'limited supply' thing was simply a promotional line used to make people preorder. It turns out it wasn't.

So in a sense, those who have preordered the CE should be the ones protesting since making the DLC available to all reduces the CE's value

A longtime fan knows that ME is worth spending some money. It is still up to him to decide how much though. I am a swotor fan but I didnt buy the CE of the game because the price was ridiculous, I missed out on stuff sure but I dont mind, it is reasonable.

You don't have to pay more to validate yourself.  If you say you're a longtime fan, I don't think reasonable people would doubt you.  If you think it would be nice to have a bennie for being a longtime fan without having to pay for it, then I can agree with that.  It would be awfully nice.  On the other hand, I decided it was worth it to me to pay for the CE, and I'm really glad that the bonus content will be more to my liking than the Collectors Armor.

im more disappointed at the way people have (over) reacted. it shows how ugly the community can get when they disagree. But at same time it shows the solidarity of a portion of the community (the same community that gets ugly). MOB RULES BABY!!! Bioware gave in once and they know it! get loud and someone is gonna wimp out.

I, for one, am looking forward to a CE with so many extras. Considering what you got in a similarly priced Gears CE (which I didn't get because our Best Buy totally sucks) I'm really pleased.

I do wish that instead of "quantities limited preorder now" it was more like the DA2 signature edition, where it's "preorder by this date to ensure your copy" and then they were printed to the number of preorders. It's not important to me that I be the only kid on the block with the thing. Still, I'm pretty psyched about the game.
