my question is why is the old republic getting an uber colletors edition or whatever you want to call it, with a statue and all the trimmings and all we get is a metal tin, a patch and a tiny lithgraph, just think its a bs collectors edition for the final act in a trilogy of a landmark game, why not put out the uber one, from the posts on here, there are many, many people that would want one for this game, i just dont get it
MassEffect3 is the last in the series, but the Starwars MMO is a long term investment for BioWare.
People have to pay to buy it then pay a subscription to keep playing it so they need to entice LOTS of people to buy it. What better way than to offer up statues and other toys in a collector’s edition?
When you think of it, it seems a bit redundant to offer such things on a game that is on the way out (massEffect).
Shame, but makes good business sense, and make no mistake, BioWare and EA are in business to make money.

Your right.
But I can’t see them doing anything else with it honestly.
I mean, if they do what they did with DragonAge (ie another character's events set against the background or the original story) then they are onto a looser.
DA2 was ok, but DragonAge without DarkSpawn is just as bad as MassEffect with our Reapers orthe Normandy.
Think about it, I doubt they'll do an MMO, alongside StarWars.
An RTS might work quite well, but i truly think they will let the MassEffect universe live on as a fond memory in our hearts with, quite possibly, the death of Sheppard (!)
(They don’t need to keep him /her alive anymore do they?
(And what better way to make a real strong connection than to make a martyr out of him/her?)

I disagree with you on why DA2 wasn't as good as Origins but I'll save that discussion for another thread.steej wrote...

One thing I could see them doing is having the game take place many years in the future where you can see/hear mentions of Shepard and his team but they all (minus probably Liara) have long since died or people have lost track of them.

One of the computer games you are selling (Mass Effect 3: Collector's Edition PC)
I know that many games in Germany gets either censored or dubbed over to german language. My question is simply is Mass Effect 3: CE via Amazon.de dubbed or censored in any way? I know that many times computer games (especially Mass Effect) have the option to install it as german dubbed or english original language. Though I am not 100% sure since I've never ordered from Amazon.de (only .uk.co). But uk.co. does not have the CE for any console or pc, which only leaves me with the option to choose you. Second quest then. If I order via .de (following that you can answer queston #1 100%) how are the usual transportation difficulties to Denmark. For example: does it take longer than if it were to be ordered via .co.uk. (even though it can't), and would it arrive on time and does it arrive at the exact address?
I look forward for very good and informative answer with understanding in the concern and the passion around the RPG game that is Mass Effect, and for it to arrive in perfect condition since it's pre order and so forth.
Thank you very, very much.

I suppose you could just order one from the UK or US. Isn't the American version the cheapest one anyway?

hopefully have an R-18 rating here by ME3 aswell, even tho most games get in without censoring. besides L4D2 which was less gory than L4D here.

An irony not lost on BioWare; if you got it for ME2, it says Mass Effect 2: Collectors' Edition.

A "pet" Vorcha?! sounds like slavery to me....Jestina wrote...
Throw in a cat or a Vorcha for a pet instead of a dog...and then I might consider buying it.
I know the dog-mech sits in your room and...well, im not sure what it does honestly.
But wouldnt it be nice if it would follow you into combat?
Kind of like the Mabari in DragonAge2 where you could summon it like a power so it wouldnt take up a squad place.

That sucks. I hate censoring in games (although I've never encountered it personally).

Once you add all the import tarifs and taxes the US version will most likely be one of the most expensive ones to order if you're in Europe.
Amazon.co.uk doesn't appear to have the PC version of the Collector's Edition up yet for some reason. Didn't EA provide any to that site?

No, it isn't. It'd be ironic if the Collector's Edition didn't have the Collector armour.Tonymac wrote...

Besides, my response was to another person on this topic - and we found that the "Collectors Edition" was ironic in that this was the edition of the game where we meet the Collectors.

Perhaps the part I found ironic is that I collected the collectors edition in order to armor up like a collector.

An example of irony, quoted from Wonkipedia:
In 1974, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
had to recall 80,000 of its own lapel buttons promoting "toy safety",
because the buttons had sharp edges, used lead paint, and had small
clips that could be broken off and subsequently swallowed.

It is true, the word "ironic" has been abused so much most people have gotten it mixed around the wrong way. I think the word we are looking for is "coincidental" that a game with an optional Collector's Edition (by default that is what we call one) featured a race known as "the Collectors" as the main antagonists in its previous title. There is nothing ironic about it.
