I'd say it's more of a pun in the case of ME2, due to the Collector armour/weapon, so it'd be more of a play on words than any sort of ironic joke. But yes, you are correct in that it's a generic term used for limited editions of games.

GAME (All three platforms), Gamestation (All three) and Gameplay (Consoles). I've not yet heard of it at other stores.

Please make sure EB Games get some CE in to make it "officially" available to pre-order in New Zealand. Australia does, and we're connected, but for some reason NZ is still "Available TBC"...Although I have mine pre-ordered because I got the sku from looking into the system (most likely because Aussieland has it), it doesn't mean I'll be able to get one if we happen to not sell the CE. =/ This worries me as the only other option is Mighty Ape and who knows, they might sell out of CE before I know the answer that NZ is actually 100% getting ME3 CE through EB.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned in the thread, but I contacted Play.com in the UK to ask why they weren't offering the Collector's Edition of ME3. They said they were planning to offer it, but hadn't received a release date for the item yet which is why it isn't on their site. So I guess it will be available from more retailers in the UK if we're patient.

Ah, good. Perhaps their price will be more reasonable than Game's. It could also force Game to drop their price once they have competition, that would mean that they can't demand whatever they feel like because they're the only ones stocking it.

Hey guys, thinking about pre-ordering from Gamestation.co.uk seeing as how it's 10 pounds cheaper there, but I heard some bad things about them, anybody here have any dealings with them, good or bad? Also, it's kind of weird there's so much of a price difference with Game.co.uk, aren't they owned by the same people or something?

The reliability of Gamestation to deliver should be identical to Game as they use the same supplier and the method of distribution is identical. I ordered the N7 edition with Game simply because I used to work for them and have a reward card with many points.

The price issue is a little complicated or possibly convoluted. It all has to do essentially with game stores group being pretty much the only large chain of stores selling only games. So because of some trouble with the monopoly and mergers commission they have to provide varying prices offers and deals through each of their different chains, which means as a requirement to offering consumer choice, game stores group varying sections Game, Gamestation Gameplay etc, have to compete with each other.

This is a grossly simplified account, but it's fundamentally the situation
