I'm wondering if the CE will be awailable in UK retailers? It wouldn't be a problem to pre-order from Gamestop, Amazon or Bioware itself but, shipment would cost dearly. So i'd like to pre-order it on a UK retailer but i'm getting suspicious as if it won't be available.
Any official information or opinion on this?
It is, check GameStation, they have it pre orderd right now with free UK delivery....
Thanks for the tip, but i guess i'll go with amazon.com instead gamestation. It's quite a bit cheaper than gamestation including the shipment fee.

They're not. You're getting most of the same content for a similar price. Going by the UK store, the Digital Deluxe is £55, the PC Collector's is £60-70 retail.Ohpus wrote...
Is there any reason why the Digital Editions and physical editions of CE are priced the same? Seems like it will cost much less to produce, so why are digital consumers being gouged?
Basically it's so that they're not undermining themselves. If they offer the digital for £40, that's undercutting their collector's edition which has mostly the same stuff, albeit in physical form rather than digital, by £20 and that's not a sensible thing to do. It's not so much about the production cost, although the digital version does have its own costs attributed such as the hosting of the files and the bandwidth used in the downloading of those files to the customer's PC, but more about keeping the pricing consistent. It's why a digital game costs you the same price as its retail version at launch.
You will need to have access to Live to download them, yes, just as you would any other DLC. That is, of course, assuming that they distribute the CE content in the same way that EA do for most/all of their titles.TheIdiocyWizard wrote...
I just pre-ordered the Collectors
edition for the Xbox 360, and I just have a quick question. Do you have
to have Xbox live to get the in game extras?

I'm perfectly fine with getting the digital version of the art book. Less clutter. But there are some things that are offered in one, but not the other, like the N7 patch. Naturally a digital N7 patch is a silly idea, but they could offer some content unique to the digital version to make up for that.
For the record, I was just comparing the price in the official store which has them priced the same. The retail price is just the Manufacturer Suggested Retail. Key word, suggested. So retailers can charge whatever they want. I'll just go next door.

Our pricing is tax inclusive. Not everywhere is. Once you add that in, and it's 20% at the moment, then the pricing isn't all that different between countries, although sometimes it seems ridiculous.Mr.Kusy wrote...
Let's just say British video game market is not representative in any way and Pounds Sterlings shouldn't be used in any kind of price discussion... because we all know Great Britain clients are face-raped by publisher in front of everyone's eyes... you guys could probably change it by a massive protest and by shipping games from the mainland (and you would probably pay the same price or even lower - even after adding the shipping costs)...
But my point still stands. The Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition, bar the minor physical items and the casing, are priced roughly the same so that one does not undermine the other. They rarely add anything extra to the digital deluxe as they're not competing products in the same way that the standard and 'deluxe' editions are.

It doesn't seem ridiculous my anglo-saxon friend... it is ridiculous! You can't substract part of the product's price before comaprision, your tax is part of the price you have to compare with. You proven me wrong in one thing however... it's not the publishers screwing you over hard... it's your government.OnlyShallow89 wrote...

But again... not like that's anything new in GB
Yes, this one stands and is right. I think it's worth noticing that the Digital Deluxe editions are not called "collector's" for a purpose, they are not something you collect as collecting reffers more to the physical aspects of the deal (in game/movie industries case anyway) where you get items that are exclusive to you, that means physical, because frankly - I don't have to buy the DD edition to have all those junk DLCs on day one (on day one if the publisher does a good job of not letting the final build leak on the internet before day one, past that point - it's just a matter or time, with EA games, matter of hours). They are not products to be compared with the physical Collector's Editions.OnlyShallow89 wrote...

Besides turning to other retailers (which I really didn't want to do), I have no idea what to do now. I've already e-mailed gamestation several times and they still have no ETA on the issue. They told me to call them to place the order, but calling them from here is going to be so expensive I might as well order from overseas. I'm guessing since the systems are so similar that GAME will say the same thing. Has anyone else come across this problem?

Well, this is good. After that whole "update" GAME UK did, guess what? They cancelled my order and now I have the exact same problem I had with gamestation, and I can't choose the delivery method, thus blocking me from pre-ordeing. Problem that still hasn't been fixed by gamestation the way. I am now unable to pre-order the CE in any store in the UK that carries it.

You have to panic. Because obviously, 5 months is not enough time to the release date to fix your issue.

I'm not panicking, just tired of the whole situation. You'd think they'd fix something as simple as this in a few days. It's been almost two months now. I can't check stores everyday and just wanted to order it and get this out of my mind. That's not too much to ask, is it?

Well it's defenetly not too much to ask, that's just proper customer sevice which is lacking in almoast every single video games retailer... just don't get so worked up and write "I don't know what to do now"... it's unhealthy to get so worried, you know? I'd be worried if it happened a month before the release date.

I think that its quite reasonable to pre-order something and expect it to arrive on time. There is no excuse for a glitch or whatever reason for a person's order / pre-order to be changed. If my order were to be changed without my authorization, I would be seeking someones separation from the payroll.
I also detect someone trolling you - or in the very least being highly rude.

Oh my Sherlock, you missed a post in your quote.
I also believe that pre-ordering something and expecting it to arrive on time is reasonable. I just don't see how does that aply to anything here, except that you had a sudden urge to defend people from my "highly rude" comments... because again - obviously, a database error on the retailer's website, 6 months prior to the game being shipped means the world is ending and that you cannot "pre-order something and expect it to arrive on time"... with the time variable being 6 months... exacly 6 months and 2 days I think. More than half a year.
Nobody to deffend here.

This is why I'm waiting to see if ME2 does the same thing, right before ME3, before I buy either of them, if ME2 does that old trick, then ME3 will wait until the next sequel before I even think about buying it.

Will pre-ordering at specific retailers give you any exclusive items, be they physical or in game? I have a pre-order at Gamestop, but I'd rather cancel it and get it at Best Buy or Amazon over the Deus Ex controversy from last week.

I just really don't like that policy and don't want to deal with them removing anything from my games in the future.

Sometimes they'll tell what they're offering exclusively. Usually they're in game. If physical they'll all probably have it.

For those living in the UK, Gamestation has the ME3 CE PC DVD for £59.99, 10 quid cheaper than Game. I still find it outrageous, considering that it's roughly equivalent to $100 or €70. Might be worth to wait till the winter season.
I feel your pain. I ended up spending 90 bucks for this and same day shipping, but honestly I would pay more fo this game because I love it so much.

Winter? Why? It'll be out of stock then. New Vegas' CE went down in price maybe a month or two after release, as did Civ V's. Best thing to go would be to check it weekly from the end of April.floccinaucinihilipilification wrote...
