Yes, I realize that. However.

It would be very silly of Amazon UK to merchandise a collector's edition game guide, (they stock a standard paperback version as well) but not doing the same with the game itself. More often than not, they follow that logic. Of course it doesn't necessarily lead to the ME3 CE to magically appear amongst their items, and if it won't, well, that would be very silly of them.

Call it fixation or being hopelessly hopeful. Until I see an official representative giving us the middle finger stating that it won't happen, I'll stick to it.

Question. Does the CE have Mission + Character DLC or not? The text description of CE on masseffect.com doesn't mention it, but it's still there on the display picture of the CE's content.

Yeah sure, it is made by EA. But it ain't all that bad anyway.

And to answer your question:
Origin is PC-only. No need to worry about that crap gettin' on your Xbox.

Because once Origin is installed, it mines your pc for data and sends it back to EA. Origin's terms of use also state that EA may share this information with other parties. EA claims this is "For marketing purposes". The only difference between Origin and normal Spyware is that Origin is intentionally installed whereas normal Spyware is usually installed unintentionally - without the pc owner even noticing.

I bet almost every program out there does this.

I couldn't care less, ain't got anything to hide. It's not like they can access my desktop and start browsing between my files.

And yet browsing thru your files (and indexing their content) is exactly what spyware does! Honestly, this should be illegal. Yes, you can choose not to buy the game from them; but since the Collector's Edition is only available from EA directly (or indirectly, via their stores), it's like saying: "You can choose not to buy milk; but if you do, you give us permission to ransack your home, and use everything therein we find of use."

Anyway, I'm not so delusional as to think they'll change it now; but hell will freeze over first before I buy that
Collector's Edition from Origin -- that much is certain. I'll wait for the regular STEAM version, then.

Appearantely, Origin comes with all normal hard-copies bought at retailers too. (If it's an EA published game, that is.)

If they want info off my Xbox fine, I don't use a credit card and just to beat EA to the point, I played Rumble Roses AND the newer Prince of Persia, you have nothing to embaress me with now >: D

CE has what it described in the first post of this thread. The DLC that you're thinking of was an initial idea that Bioware was considering but ultimately rejected. When they posted the information, they forgot to remove those parts.

Well, it is finished.

I pre-ordered from Gamestop because they're the closest retailer and have the best bonus content (usually). Paid extra to make sure it gets here before I leave for spring break, too.

Preordered from amazon. I was lucky enough to have some gift cards left unused, and they added up to make the CE of ME3 free save for shipping costs. It will take some pretty crazy preorder goodies for me to switch to another retailer at this point.
