Omni-tools are handheld devices that combine a computer microframe, sensor analysis pack, and minifacturing fabricator. So the Omni-blade works in the same way as sentinels tech armor

As others have said, it is a hologram and thus, in the Mass Effect universe, a complete retcon.

P.S. No one is going to care :(

Please, people, don't post comments in ignorance until you READ THE THEAD.

The question in the OP has been addressed, multiple times, yet people still post without reading.

in the ME universe they can make kinetic barriers and, force fields, and holograms. the omniblade therefore is merely a temporary extension of of the focused energy of your shields, manipulated under focus by the omnitool.

logically, by extension, a sentinels omniblade must be the most OP mellee attack in the game:)

It's just some kinetic shields that meet at a point, the omni-tool itself is just a projection. And it's not a new thing, Kasumi used one in ME2.

Of course there is an "explanation" for the blade. It's just complete crap.

The wiki even says its a hologram. Is that sword a part of his armor or the omnitool. How can a hologram be a dagger? Can anyone clarify this for me?

UH OH I smell a retcon coming up

Because making everyone from before lesbian/gay/bi just wasnt retconing enough.

They aren't making EVERYONE LGBT, are they?

If Bioware can present it in a way that makes sense, I'd be perfectly fine with some characters expanding their interests, so to speak. It's fully possible to feel new emotions or act on formerly inhibited ones when faced with the galaxy's end. Remember that there are years between ME1 and ME3; a lot can happen.

But if suddenly everyone's gay for Shepard just because, and the dynamic of suddenly being attracted when before it had never been evident isn't explored in the least, then yeah, it'll feel forced, and I likely won't engage in it with any of my Sheps. <_<
