I really don't get it.

Okay, so Cerberus (or at least most of it) is working for the Reapers now. Why? Well, um, just go with it.

Okay, so Cerberus has a literal ARMY is extremely well equiped soldiers...and giant mechs. Okay.

And they work against Shepard, even when he is CLEARLY trying to stop the Reapers (they can see it with their own eyes)...and they are CLEARLY fighting for the Reapers (they can see it with their own eyes).

Now, I understand that that last part could be hand-waved with indoctrination, but indoctrination doesn't work that quickly on so many people.

Cerberus cannot possibly be that large and well equiped, or that mobile (are they literally following Shepard across the galaxy here? With what?)

It just doesn't make any sense. It seems like Bioware needed generic soldiers for Shepard to fight, to have actual gunplay in ME3...but they failed to realize that having anyone outside of a few indoctrinees or Collector-esque enemies, wouldn't make any sense.

Don't get me wrong, I love what I see so far and I'm super excited, but this just stuck out like a sore thumb to me.

did you play ME1? Cerberus was never up to any good. experiments with Rachni, and Thoreans. The Illusive Man sent Sheppard into traps, he just want Reaper technology for himself. Cerberus was never trustworthy.

*sigh*
Not ALL of Cerberus is after Shepard.

Did you pay even one ounce of attention to how Cerberus was set up / structured as an organization during the events of ME2?

No? Well that makes since since you are writing this thread.

Here, go talk to EDI again AFTER shes been released by Joker.

Cerberus is the energizer bunny of the ME universe, they keep going and going no matter how many bases get blown up or operatives get killed.

And yeah being railroaded into fighting them sucks hard.

Wow, I didn't know you played ME3 already. Cerberus has loads of funds and equipment, none of that goes against the lore.

How do you know they are indoctrinated? They could have other motives.

Why don't you wait until the game comes out, and been played before you start ****ing?

Cerberus is indoctrinated...I just heard it from Shepard's mouth in a gameplay demo at GameTrailers. However, Shepard has been wrong before.

No Paula, you really don't get it.

You have seen a few minutes of footage in a trailer. You do not yet know any of the details you are overguessing.

More will be revealed. in the future. :)

How are they being railroaded? Cerberus was structured to be made of many cells, all independent from each other and not knowing which other cells existed and what the other cells are doing.

The Illusive Man most likely had a cell that researched found Reaper devices (and probably got a lot of parts from Sovereign) to .. well.. research Reapers and even possibly try to reverse engineer to help understand in how to better fight them; nothing abnormal there - even for Cerberus.

So that cell gets indoctrinated; tries to make a mini "Reaper" with the resources provided (and/or also stolen) - situation gets out of hand. Reapers are now in Galaxy and the overwhelming tendency of this cell is to now kill Shepard.

So again - I don't see it as *ALL* of Cerberus, only a cell which has its guns out for him.

Don't think. Bioware doesn't like thinking customers.
Here, shiny lighsaber. Boom, boom. Awesome!!!!

As somebody who fully supported Cerberus in everything, I'd really hope there's more to this. :I

Just heard Shep say they're indoctrinated in the gametrailers interview.  So hopefully you're right and Shep doesn't know the full story.  And more revealed?  I thought we had to play the game to find out?

Both demos have shown Cerberus working with the Reapers.

I have a feeling its connected to the effects of the reaper tech shown in the Evolution Comics. So likely it could be the Illusive Man. Those people that are after Shepard, they're soldiers, what do most soldiers do? They do what they're told, so what if they're "allied" with the reapers. They may even not be, they could be going after Shep for a totally different reason. So I think we just got to be patient, besides its still D1 of E3! I can't wait for more info on ME3! March 6, 2012! Yeah!

*sigh* Now Casey Hudson said that TIM is behind everything Cerberus is doing, including having said Cerberus is working with the Reapers. Yay Renegades...

Seriously, even playing a gray Shepard seems pointless now, let alone a Renegade.

It's more of a pendulum swing than actual villain decay. In ME1, Cerberus had all the depth of a cartoon villains, and could accurately be described as "Team Rocket with a higher body count to their name." In Mass Effect 2, they got some development, and now things have gone the other way, thanks largely to people's complaints about them being the good guys.

I've been trying to kill off Cerberus since Mass Effect 1. I've been against them since they murdered Admiral Kohoku.

Too late. It was in the demo. That makes it as "confirmed" as anything else.
