Hey it's possible, given that there could still be some in stasis somewhere out there.

Meh, more day 1 DLC :/
Prothean squadmate? Could be interesting as long as they have a very good reason for it
It would make a change from squadmates we're used to.

Prothean squadmate would mean TIME TRAVEL! *dun dun DUN!* I bet that's how we would have killed the Reapers.
It also says 'mechdog'. So does that mean Shepard will have a robo mabari hound?

Just shut up and take my money Bioware!
No, really ME3 has struck me as lighting, color me impressed. Those pre-order bonuses seem nice as well, if we're offered the last of the Protheans as a squad member (via cloning of whatever) I'll just cry out of joy.

I'm glad there is no prothean. They are supposed to be all dead. Keep with the lore.

If it's true -- most epic leak ever.
If it's false -- epic comedy time bomb. 3/7/12 there will be so many tears.

Dammit, this is definitely gonna be the first game I've ever preordered! I can't believe there are still 9 months to wait D: Oh, well, we don't want another DA2, right?
Take all the time you need, Bioware, just don't make us regret our money!

It wouldn't necessarily mean time travel, there could still be some Prothean ruins where a stasis pod survived. We saw them on Ilos, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility...Amagoi wrote...

That said, if there's even a hint of time travel in ME3, I'll be disappointed. That's about the only thing in sci-fi which I just cannot stand and I'm very glad Mass Effect has avoided even the passing mention of it so far.

A Prothean? That's just silly.
So much for science in this sci-fi!
(am I overreacting correctly?)

I think its kind of cheap to suddenly revive a 10 000 old race. Kind of if you gave a 5 year old the reigns over the franchise. Comon bioware, dont ruin the lore now, especially not for a steam knockoff!

The first thing I thought when I read the title was meeting a VI trying to resuscitate a Prothean in stasis, not actually having a Prothean fight by your side.
So far all we've seen are tentacley, sphere chair-bound statues and a few Protheans writhing in pain during beacon flashbacks of the Cataclysm. I wonder how the Protheans fought.

Apparently pretty well, since they lasted decades - possibly centuries, Vigil was vague - against the Reapahs.Occulo wrote...

"A mistake from old text"....?
I'm usually skeptical about these sort of things, but let's consider the facts:
1. This was put up on an official website for preordering the collector's edition http://store.origin....uctID=231087700
2. Chris P. hastily covered Bioware's ass
3. For everyone saying that Prothean's are "not possible" or that it wouldn't make sense to include them, consider the facts from ME1: we know that at least some Protheans made it to the Citadel, we don't know what happened to them after that, and with enough energy, cryogenic freezing could keep them alive for thousands of years. Would it not make sense for the last of the Protheans to cryo-freeze themselves in a secure/remote location as a last ditch, failsafe?
Just saying, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the ultimate leak, and almost a year early!

I mean, like, how they wielded weapons. Or if they just used biotics, or combat drones, or something.

It's possible still that it's just another character like Zaeed or Kasumi and not a Prothean, even though it'd be awesome to be able to talk to one in game.
