@ Rici - the one area I will give you that complaint having absolute validity is squad mate convos between missions. The point where I got a bit irked with ME2's convo system and flow was post game discussions with your squaddies. ME1 gave you ALOT of things to say and uncover whereas by the 3rd or 4th convo with Garrus in ME2 I'd basically exhausted everything outside of his loyalty mission. So I think that is definitely a fair grumble, but beyond that - there was no lack of conversations, choices and even small scale decisions to make in ME2 versus ME1. Arguably the larger scope of ME2 provided only more convos to have.

Considering they've said there will be alot more dialogue for squadmates [between each other and with Shep] I'm not too fussed, but again - I'd be lying through my teeth if I tried to claim ME2 did the squad mate convos justice compared to ME1. I think ME2 made up for it with far more major choices though.

ME2 kinda spaced out the squadmate convos, too, in different scenarios. A lot of the delving into your squad's backgrounds came during their loyalty missions - in a way, those were a way to get to know your team just as much as shooting the breeze in the cargo hold was in the first game. And the character development's what's important, right?

Wow, that is BEAUTIFUL!!!
I want it, when is it going to be released?
:innocent:

Oh, you know how development goes. You put in a kickass combat system that evolves fluidly for anyone of any skill level - that takes a month. Tops.

But getting the menus and UI right? I've been working on that with my team of 70 for over a year now. We might have to push it back too. Sorry about that.

We're thinking of adding an animation to your mouse cursor "hand". That way it opens and closes more gracefully depending on the type of weapon you pick up in the inventory grid. Right now it just doesn't feel right.

Plus a couple of our testers found some text errors. We might need a few million dollars to fix 'em, and that might necessitate a new publisher.

You know how it goes.

Everything seen so far shouts "Gears of War" action game, including a silly "Awesome Button" melee lightsaber. Show us some of the "promised" enhanced role playing abilities. Or were that just empty words? I kinda expect it.

Totally agree not Impressed so far

These hardcore rpg gamers should die :innocent:

This. RPG fans need to suck it. Action packed games are the future of gaming. Its the best entertainment. If RPG fans arent willing to move forward then they will be left in the dust.

That's a dangerous statement to make and only serves to make these boards more volatile - while I would argue that people NEED to be more flexible and realize that games change and mechanics must be evolved, we can't forget our roots - or continue to enjoy games that cater to them. Mass Effect made a bold move to be both an RPG and an FPS - something very few games have ever done well and it has exceeded so much expectation and become a legendary game. While they certainly need to continue improving the action, story and pacing, part of the joy of Mass Effect has always been conversations, RPG elements and giving us the ability to customize and shape everything around us, including the equipment and people who follow us.

Actually, that's enough of this thread. There's been quite enough immaturity, posturing, and bickering for one thread. LOCKDOWN.
