I'm only keeping my only save where I gave the base just because I want to see what's going to happen.

I didn't kill the Heretics. Shep reprogrammed them in the belief
they could be allies. Well, that appears ready to bite me in the a**,
but I'm not crying about it.

Now you've peaked my interest, how so? I've seen no mention of it.

When Shepard's at the small control panel above the Reaper "base" in the gameplay demo, he radios the Normady and says (unless I heard wrong) "The Geth Shields are down." Also, he (in the trailer) throwing a grenade at some Geth. On the other hand, Legion is clearly with him. In fact, Legion drives the platform while Shep is tailgunner during the escape from the Reaper.

It will take hours for us to sort this all out tonight, but I suspect  saving the Geth is going to bite.

Thompson family wrote...

That leaves out the possiblity that they were never straight with Shep once and were playing him/her, or the far more likely prospect that they simply switched to the side that's clearly winning.

Except they spent millions to bring back Shepard, they outfitted Shepard for the war, they gave them the best allies and the best ship money could buy and sent them through everything to destroy the Reapers plans. The game even says TIM brought back Shepard to lead the war against the Reapers.

It could be possible but surrendering to the Reapers immediately after arriving would be contrary to everything they've been trying to achieve since after the First Contact War (where TIM found out about the Reapers and have been trying to stop them if you want to believe the comics).

And failed. TIM wanted to stop the Reapers from coming, or at least be prepared. He failed, and made a pragmatic deal -- and will be betrayed by the Reapers anyway.

Even though this might be true, the Shepard in that demo was renegade, noticable by the scars, ofcourse, I was renegade and I saved them.

I can handle Saren trying to make a deal, I can deal with Kenson worshipping them. Now it's getting to ludicrous levels. Indoctrination started out as a cool concept, I thought it was insidious. But now it's become nothing more than a convenient plot device that can just do a hand wave and Bioware can go "bad guiz nao, gots to shoot dem".

It's gotten to Blizzard levels of facepalm with what they did to some of their characters.

An alternative is that the Geth base is one of the Heretic outposts that wouldn't fall, or was abandoned prior. Rewriting the Geth was always noted as leaving some behind.

And failed. TIM wanted to stop the Reapers from coming, or at least be prepared. He failed, and made a pragmatic deal -- and will be betrayed by the Reapers anyway.

Or will betray them for a higher prize. TIM does enjoy his double games.

This. Unless the indoctrination thing is just one of Shepard's theories and it turns out that TIM has some kind of Severus Snape plan to defeat the reapers. :pinched:

Sure looks like it. The genophage data, CB and heretic Geth decisions seem to be completely irrelevant now.

About a year ago , I lost all my game saves on my console.  I have about 8 playthroughs with ME2, each time. I made a save at the collector base so no big issues with me. I am still pro keep the base, yet all of my characters are 100% paragon. Now I can just go back on each playthrough, and destory the base , so I have no worries. I just hope Kelly is ok.

I think TIM, just made a deal with the reapers to spare humans, in return help them kill Shep and help them take over.

Except TIM knows this doesn't work, he's even stopped something similar from happening with the Turians.

TIM was indoctrinated by the Reapers (in someway), and that's why he's always been so willing to experiment on humans and all kinds of different species (with or without Reaper tech).  After losing the Collectors, the Reapers decided to decided to use TIM to his full potential, and that is why Cerberus is your enemy in ME3.

That's my assumption.

Doesn't matter remember?  *indoctrination handwave* TIM: Mmm yes, I will deal with the Reapers now.

What I got from the comic was that then Jack was not under Reaper control as his indoctrination was very new, however he's lived with reaper tech in him for a very long time now, all this time he was able to tune into Reaper artifacts sensing where they are and who knows what that has done to his understanding, the longer you are exposed to Reaper tech no matter how small you start being convinced the Reapers are right. TIM is Saren 2.0.

I'm not surprised at all by this move with Cerberus. After reading the most recent comics, I was sort of expecting this. Especially when I heard that Cerberus would be an enemy in ME3. Of course they were always an enemy, I didn't choose to work with those terrorists in ME2. ;)

Has it been covered yet that Shepard says, "They're indoctrinated" during the firefight with Cerberus operatives in the demo?

...because I'm too lazy to go back and look.

TIM struck a deal with the Reapers. Humanity (Cerberus is humanity!) gets to live and recolonize an empty galaxy. Or maybe they'd even see being uploaded into a Reaper shell as just the next stage of our evolution.

I'm not surprised, I'm glad I blew up those "cupcakes" at the end of ME2.

What could possibly be their reason, except indoctrination? What would be believable?

I won't be suprised if the people that kept the collector base, the game will tell you that it is in use again, so this is why keeping the base was renegade. I bet it would be used as a element , in terms of seeing or someone saying that humans are taken to the collector base, by Cerberus.

Before ME2 came out, I was hoping for a good explanation for Shepard's death and resurrection. I never got that.

I always thought TIM's eyes were a good hint something was up with him. They looked vaguely Reaper-ish to me.

... Also, to those saying this makes the Renegade choice pointless, hush. We don't know even half of the game yet, and that decision could effect any of a number of things. I trust the ME team to treat that decision as it's treated every other decision--with thought-out, logical consequences.
