....they've added a bunch of awesome improvements.

What else can they add without significantly changing what makes Mass Effect...Mass Effect? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Wow, a sequel to a game plays exactly like its predecessor? I'm shocked I tell you, shocked!

No. It really does not play exactly like ME2.

I agree, the transition from ME to ME2 was a major one in terms of gameplay, I think people (atleast I was) were expecting a similar transition into ME3, however it doesn't show that from what we see unfortunately.

Forgive him, he's new.

Besides that, they've already said they wouldn't undergo as much of a change in the mechanics for ME3 as they did for ME2 because what was in place "worked"

How do you know they didn't add stuff? The game is not finished yet.

Bioware have been saying for months that it would be like ME2. They've not made any secret of it. Did you only just start looking at ME3 info today?

That's a good thing.

I'd prefer more devtime to story/dialogues/characters than to revamp gameplay mechanics again.

Well, first of all the game is far from release so many improvements will be made to the game. Also, you cant really notice some of the improvements unless you play it and feel the changes in game play.

There are rumors going around saying that the demo is going to be more like Mass Effect 2 (less RPG elements) based on the demo shown and interviews. Take it for what you will

I think it looks very similar, but with better melee and new, fluid animations. I fail to see how that is a bad thing at all.

Truth be told, this is what should have been expected, considering the critical success of Mass Effect 2.

I know why a lot of people will say that but to be honest after the huge improvement in combat that ME2 had over ME1, i think all ME3 needed was further tweaking as opposed to a giant overhaul. We are still getting some big improvements, bigger battlefields and you can see the enemy AI is being beefed and enemy types that require different strategies.

I agree with Khayness, those are the areas that will most likely receive even bigger improvements and to be honest with this being the last in the trilogy those are the most important areas to continually improve on.

No, the ME2 gameplay wasn't tolerable without modding the "ammo" system.

So? This is a good thing. ME1 combat was crap and as long as they add onto the ME2 formula Iam happy.

I have no idea how you can look at anything that was released and say that it looks like it plays exactly the same. So one side of this forum has people saying that it's too much like a shooter, and on the other side there are people saying that it looks exactly the same. This forum is ridiculous.

Yeah it has a little bit less "covering" but it is more or less the same. Plus that tech kebab in your fist (cool stuff imo).

I don't know what people was expecting but for the very short demo I can perfectly see it will play quite differently, rolling is a BIG improvement in mobility and the open environments will mean much more versatile and tactical gameplay, not to mention the obvious improvement on melee attack, and that's without Heavy Weapons, powers and weapons mods.
