With notable exceptions (the battlefield franchise promotes teamwork), these shooters are terribly easy and boring to play. You can go hours and hours on twtich reflexes, shooting people in a children infested room.

...as opposed to "smart" RPG's like DAO that I ran the AI on the trash mobs for hours on end. Get over yourself.

Little things matter to me. At first I wandered what DICE could bring to ME3's combat. That little bit of combat shown, the meatier sounding guns, recoil, really did make a big difference to me. I can't wait to see what else is under the hood that we can't get the feel for by just watching a combat vid.

A lot of the changes that they were talking about in the Game Informer video was environmental so I wouldn't expect to hear much of a difference before you get the game home as that stuff is quite subtle.

No. It really does not play exactly like ME2.

Too many lies from Bioware since they sold their soul to the EA devil to believe you. Looks like it plays just like ME2 with an added melee attack to me.

Just from the videos so far I've noticed:
• Rolling
• Reworked cover
• Tactical movment between cover
• Stealth kills
• Improved CQC

That^
Still has the same basis as ME2 but that to be expected. These additions should change the ways you can play quite a bit.

When you get your hands on it, you'll know. Videos (and the short demo materials we've shown so far) don't do it justice (even though they are awesome!).

That was said about Dragon age 2 as well.. Didn't work out very well

Forgive him, he's new.

Besides that, they've already said they wouldn't undergo as much of a change in the mechanics for ME3 as they did for ME2 because what was in place "worked"

Exactly...people are expecting a huge drastic change. But since ME2 was such a huge success why fix what ain't broke?

If the game plays more like ME2 than ME, I'll be a happy guy. I was one of the millions that actually like third person shooters. So everything is fine by me.

The only possible concern that I might have is, will all of these new combat features complicate the controls?

It will not only play like ME2 but it will have more Catsuits so everyone is just like Miranda!

I fully expect to have boobs on my Male Shepard.

Only disappointing thing I have seen is that the HUD is exactly like ME2's. I still dislike the little character icons in the bottom center.

I do like the classic blue ME1 color, though. Hope that sticks.

Skyrim features hack and slash combat like Oblivion. Mouse 1, 2, 1, 2. That sure as hell isn't going to stop millions from buying it.

Remember that early ME2 gameplay footage showed enemies with an ME1-style shield-and-health bar instead of the R/P/S we all know and love.  Plus, the HUD has some other issues, too - the Mattock has a Vindicator icon, for instance - that make me think that, yeah, it's just an alpha, and may be improved upon by release.

Yeah I'd rather not have it look like I tatooed my NPC's faces on my posterior.
