Looks like the Reapers came down during the trial and we're trying to escape.

Well Shepard is in casual armor so is Anderson.. so I'm not 100% sure that is her regular battle outfit(I hope it isn't).

I am very much hoping thats the only reason she is in that getup. However once again we have not seen any characters in the entire series, or in any preview for ME3 change outfits in any major way during actuall gameplay. OF course we have not seen hardly anything so far of course... but My fear is there anyways.

There are also going to be alternative appearances for squad-mates. Bioware hasn't given any official details on any squad-mates beyond that so far or much of anything beyond the combat and semi-convoluted trailers for that matter, so it stands to reason that we should wait and see how Ashley is going to be fully implemented before jumping to conclusions so fast.Nashiktal wrote...
Maybe. However we have not seen any examples of squadmates in casual armor yet, or even in being able to switch outfits outside of color swaps.
I really want to think that Bioware would stay true to her character... but from what we have seen all they are doing is sexying up all the characters and putting less and less armor on them. At least miranda had a story reason for it, but Ashley? She is Alliance soldier to the bone, its in her blood. She even made fun of such outfits when you talk to her about it.
I just can't stop comparing her to Miranda, especially since they have such similar changes. Hell even LIARA is wearing armor, and KAIDEN!

You're knee-jerking to conclusions. If you analyze the first pic, you will notice that Shepard is also equipped with a weapon on his back while he's not in his armor. The pics are more than likely taken while they're still on earth trying to escape.Nashiktal wrote...
Yeah... Casual. >.>
Ugh, this doesn't ruin the game for me, but it does lessen my enthusiasm for seeing Ashley again. Seems like females are not allowed to wear heavy armor anymore, especially the one character who MADE FUN of such suits.

However its hard not to jump to conclusions when they already made a mistake. As I have said before, Ashely holds disdain for these kinds of outfits, and mocked them during the first game. If they change such a thing about a character, what else will they change about other characters?
The worry builds up.

BUT...
Liara won't get old or SAGGY before my Shep dies, so I WIN, even though Ash looks 10 times better than her ME1 counterpart, so manly in ME1, ugh.

When did Ash really mock them in ME1? The only instance I can remember is when you first walk onto the wards in the Citadel and she makes a semi-snarky comment about wearing a tinfoil miniskirt or something followed by a weary "sir", given you pick the correct dialog option. To me, that just seemed to hint towards her being a bit insecure, just like the similar instance when you found out that she likes poetry and tells you not to spread it around.
I share your concern after what happened to Liara, but I'm giving Bioware the benefit of the doubt once again and want to wait to see her official character reveal before ranging right off the bat.

Seriously? The rest of us know better than to "dismiss" stuff like this. Turn up the contrast on the video; good. Now look at her skin-tight leggings and the "circles" of armor on her... good.
Catsuit. Ta-da! <_<

I did. I don't read Game Informer magazines, the picture doesn't seem to specifically say it's Ashley, and she doesn't look like her in that picture either. For some reason, she's much more familiar in the E3 presser video. Slight redesign?

"Unless that armor helps them outrun bullets, I'd stick to a solid plate of armor."
(or something...)
But I'm confident that the jumpsuit is Ashley's casual wear.

How about we just hold Bioware's history up and call it a day?
And Ashley said in ME1 that she preferred thick armor and big guns; plus, she was the most militarized member of your crew.
"Benefit of the doubt" doesn't make sense when we know Bioware's more recent outings and their lineup of sexified characters.
Edit: especially considering they gave us a more sensible outfit for Miranda in the last AAP DLC, I expect Bioware to just sell Ashley's character-consistent heavy armor as DLC.
