That was ME1. Look at ME2, hell even DA2. That's what you should be using as your examples.

So I'm not allowed to use ME1 and should just use ME2 and DA2 as my sole sources for speculation? You throw words like "hypocrite" around alot... I wonder if you even know what it means.

Same thing said about Miranda and Isabella. You were wrong than and you're wrong now.
You can't Retcon a character that wasn't in the story yet (Miranda)
And Isabela was always trampy.
So......when your argument finds merit make sure you let me know, I'd love to see it.
Stop being dumb. You know what I meant.

You and your elk told everyone that what we saw wasen't the final attire for Miranda and Isabella. You were wrong than and you're wrong now. Stop misguideing others again and again with your lies and false self-assurances that have failed you twice already.
End quote

Okay, that's it.

Do you know every single person and their opinions on here?  I consider myslef "ilk" (and, yes, it's "ILK") in that I tried to assauge worries over Miranda and Isabella, and I promise you, the comments I have made, as to that we knew exactly what we were getting into with the two characters, DID NOT change and were NOT LIES.  I always argued that Miranda, who was a cold-hearted but self-doubting woman, wore exactly what she needed to; a revealing outfit is classic for characters who look for validation, and Isabella is pure id.  Period.  If she wants to wear loose clothes, then the creators are fine to have her wear such ensembles.  If you don't like "Barbie" characters, then try Liara.  Leliana.  Tali'Zorah.  Hell, Jack.  All of Bioware's female characters, to me, wear what they need to for their characters, anyone who has a few conversations (in game) with them can see that.

And if you're worried about how the "OH SO TERRIBLE BIOWARE" has killed Ashley BEFORE THE GAME HAS RELEASED, OR SHE HAS SAID A FREAKING WORD, then may I remind you of Liara, and how people cried foul, only for her to return to form in Lair of the Shadow Broker, and all of which was done with careful and meaningful characterization that showed a dynamic character capable of growth?

I have no problem with people giving their opinions, and I love it when they do so with adequate and well thought evidence or emotional exploration.  I am, after all an English teacher.  However, I cannot stand some anonymous, petulant child calling "lies" on every single person who seems to disagree with them.  So, please, either reform your comments to polite, if direct, language, or leave these boards.  I will happily discuss any issues of discontent with Bioware's choices with any such person, buy hyperbole for the sake of either attention or insecurity does no one any favors.

Oh, and in this case, it's "then", not "than".

Then why is Alliance dude (who I assume is Vega) right next to her and fully armored?

Says you. There would be a much larger outcry if Tali or Garrus were ruined in a way that goes against their established character that fans grew to learn and love over the course of two games.

Implying tali and garrus are my favorite characters. Garrus is and so is Ashley, but I like their personality regardless of what they wear, and I should not overreact with just one clip.

Trust me, if I wanted to pad my ego than I wouldn't be as civil as I am being despite the many personal attacks against me.

I'm posting because I care enough and hope Bioware will take heart and not ruin one of the best things that came out of ME1.

All I can say is that I'm glad Ashley is dead in my canon and pseudo-canon playthroughs so I don't have to see her character butchered like this.

Sure am glad my boy Kaidan didn't end up in a speedo.

Miranda I never gave a **** about and I don't think you can compare DA to ME - one's a mildly military sci-fi epic, the other is grounded in Western fantasy tropes.

It is. You sound just like the Miranda and Isabella backers that said that we needed more information and that what we saw wasen't the end product. You fooled everyone than and I'm sick of seeing people being fooled again with such self-assurance againstn the inevitable.

If it's inevitable why do you complain?
If nothing you or anyone can do can stop it why bother?

When did I imply that? I said a fact. If they were altered there would be much more outrage because those fans understand what it takes to get the changes that they want. Ashley fans have been treated like s**** since ME2 and now they get this? Really?

Also, Ashley WILL have a different personality. Wanna know why? Because Old Ashley would never dress that way. Thus Old Ashley is DEAD.

That's what I mean about changeing Tali and Garrus for the worst while ignore the core fans of those characters that actually give two s****s.

Because I want to make the impossible possible! I will repeat what Garrus and Tali fans set forth since ME1! It's the only way to bring about change and the only dialouge that Bioware will ever understand!

Heh. I think Ash's new look is great.

I really don't get why people are complaining. This isn't a "tinfoil miniskirt and thigh-igh boots" . Neither this is a stripper outfit, and I don't recall seeing or hearing any indication that Ash will 'shaking her ass on a stage' like asari in Chora's Den that she made fun of.

I see zero contradiction of her character just because she isn't in her old phonix 'space barbie' armor.

The way some people are reacting to seeing a strong female character donning an attractive attire... well, it makes me think they won't be satisfied until strong female lead would mean being attired in the abaya or a burlap sack.

All I'm going to say is I hope Ashley returns in full heavy armor. She is a tough soldier, her and Wrex were damn near invincible in ME1 as tanks. I would be very disappointed if she does not have the option of wearing heavy armor(s) into combat.

It's sad isn't it? To perserve Ashley and if you really care for her character you MUST kill her. It's the only way to do her any justice, sadly.

Not necessarily Vega.  Vega's AAP armor looks radically different from the armor on that soldier, which is just a reskin of the usual armor.  Might just be Random Alliance Soldier X, with Vega being, perhaps, picked up on Mars as the Normandy heads out-system.  Random Alliance Soldier X, unlike Ashley, probably wouldn't have had to attend Shepard's trial proceedings.

I mean, sure, it could be Vega, which in turn could indicate that the much-maligned catsuit is Ashley's combat clothing, but that seems like jumping to conclusions to me.

It isn't Ashley. It's just like who Liara fans were furious with her drastic change of character in ME2. They have every right to be angry and Bioware was QUICK to fix that with her own personal DLC and reverting of her personality.

Furthermore first look on Ashley is Catsuit. First look of Kaiden? Heavy Armor.

Sexism.

I hate to add to the dogpile on EM, but please please please point to where Kaidan wears heavy armor in that gameplay scene?  Link?  Have you seen footage that we haven't?  Until you can produce proof, you're conflating one art photo with gameplay footage.  More to the point, that photo obviously shows a different part of the game since Shepard is in full armor, which he is not in the footage with Ashley.

Again friend, link us to the goods.

In all past games the npcs have only have one outfit (barring slight colour changes). It's a fair assumption.

edit: Actually in me1 they all wore casual clothes on the Normandy.Maybe they all have personalised casual and combat outfits?... It'd be awesome but seems unlikely....

Lol I was just about to say "well, but on the Normandy..." then I saw your edit.  :)

Wasn't there a tweet from Casey Hudson about NPC customizable armor?  So maybe the catsuit is a custom piece.  It would be hysterical if it had bonuses or penalties!  Actually...that might be fun!  Lose sheild strength for wearing it, but gain diplomacy.  Or something silly, here's hoping!

/css: before quitting WoW I ran my healer through Cata dungeons in a Santa hat. I couldn't figure out why her heals stunk on ice.  We never wiped, but I felt like a fool when I realized...

Let me explain something to you.

ME2 came out after ME1. ME3 so far is taking many things from ME2 and less thing, if anything,s from ME1. I wonder why? Oh wait!

I will gladly play the role of the villian and push another behind the scenes to denounce me while pushing the same views as my own only in a greater light. You know nothing...

To have a champion to thrawt the chaos you must first have a misguided villian to denounce as twisting the true intentions of said arguement. It worked for Tali and Garrus fans back in ME1. Now all that is needed is a Champion to denounce me while pushing my agenda. I will occassionally appear to misguide the masses only to be denounced and the purest form of my views will continue to be carried out.

I don't care if I don't get any credit if another Tali/Garrus miracle occures for Ashley. Just as long as it occures.
