Heh. I think Ash's new look is great.

I really don't get why the people are complaining. This isn't a "tinfoil miniskirt and thigh-igh boots" . Neither this is a stripper outfit, and I don't recall seeing or hearing any indication that Ash will 'shaking her ass on a stage' like asari in Chora's Den that she made fun of.

I see zero contradiction of her character just because she isn't in her old phonix 'space barbie' armor.

The way some people are reacting to seeing a strong female character donning an attractive attire... well, it makes me think they won't be satisfied until strong female lead would mean being attired in the abaya or a burlap sack.

It isn't Ashley. It's just like who Liara fans were furious with her drastic change of character in ME2. They have every right to be angry and Bioware was QUICK to fix that with her own personal DLC and reverting of her personality.

I wasnt mad at her change in personality (Liara, huge fan), they explained it well enough, and that wasnt a quick fix for just the fans, they had the shadow broker written in during the game. THere were a lot of leaked game audio clips about it.

Not necessarily Vega.  Vega's AAP armor looks radically different from the armor on that soldier, which is just a reskin of the usual armor.  Might just be Random Alliance Soldier X, with Vega being, perhaps, picked up on Mars as the Normandy heads out-system.  Random Alliance Soldier X, unlike Ashley, probably wouldn't have had to attend Shepard's trial proceedings.

I mean, sure, it could be Vega, which in turn could indicate that the much-maligned catsuit is Ashley's combat clothing, but that seems like jumping to conclusions to me.

Miranda's AAP armor looks radically different from her catsuit. It being just a reskin is lame.

Random Alliance SoldierX is on board the normandy? And again why would Random Aliance Soldier X be fully armored? Who walks around a peaceful earth in full battle gear?  Then of course why would he be assigned to the Normandy?

Not to mention Random Alliance Soldier X is holding the widow in a screen. I'm fairly certain it's Vega. Why else would he be on the Normandy? And where else would you expect to met the new guy than right at the beginning of the game?

Funny how you say that. Though I'll let you believe whatever you want.

Sure, but not when you're getting shot at. Then if you have any brains you put on your best armour and get your hair out of your eyes.

The Ashley I know had brains.

Agreed. This 'new look' is very unlike Ashley. In me1 she even says she doesn't need a man to make her happy... this 'combat' outfit if that's what it is reaks of desperation.

For crying out loud, nothing will make you stop posting tonight. Does your entire life revolve around Mass Effect and how the characters look? "It's not Ashley, it's not Ashley." My God, we haven't even heard her talk yet. Stop coming across as a child for your own sake and not for the sake of changing Ashley's new look and new "personality."

Believe it or not I understand your position.
But you're being all Iron and no Velvet.

I will gladly play the role of the villian and push another behind the scenes to denounce me while pushing the same views as my own only in a greater light. You know nothing...

To have a champion to thrawt the chaos you must first have a misguided villian to denounce as twisting the true intentions of said arguement. It worked for Tali and Garrus fans back in ME1. Now all that is needed is a Champion to denounce me while pushing my agenda. I will occassionally appear to misguide the masses only to be denounced and the purest form of my views will continue to be carried out.

I don't care if I don't get any credit if another Tali/Garrus miracle occures for Ashley. Just as long as it occures.

You just don't want to listen. *sighs* good luck with your "crusade".

Even with the footage, it's all speculation at this point. The game comes out in March of next year. That's a long time from now. Respectfully, I'll be laughing if I find out that this worrying was for nothing.

So I'm not allowed to use ME1 and should just use ME2 and DA2 as my sole sources for speculation? You throw words like "hypocrite" around alot... I wonder if you even know what it means.

Whoa... Really? You're going to use that argument? That's sad.

Let me explain something to you.

ME2 came out after ME1. ME3 so far is taking many things from ME2 and less thing, if anything,s from ME1. I wonder why? Oh wait!

You know this? You know that there will be NOTHING taken from ME1 even after the devs said they were seeking a middle ground between ME2's combat and ME1's story. You know that ME1 will simply be discarded and never be looked at again? Just because ME2 came after ME1 does not mean one cannot use ME1 as support for their speculation, or in this case to counter act your own ramblings.

No, I do not know just how much material from ME1 the devs are using but I know that they are drawing inspiration from the original Mass Effect and trust them enough to wait for evidence rather than jumping off the bandwagon, unlike you and your ilk, and that's how you spell it so either use look at a dictionary next time or stop using the word like you should stop using hypocrite when you yourself are acting like one

People relax if you like the outfit keep it if you don't I'm sure there are alternate outfits the CE already has some. I think the outfit (with what little we have seen) looks fine.

By the way there is much more to Miranda and Isabela then just their outfits. Yes they are hot but all bioware characters are much more than that.

Apparently human beings are incapable of changing aspects of their personality. It's not like any person in the history of the world has ever ended up doing something they never said they would.

People don't change. They will carry a facade but you can't change who you are and the traits that define you. No matter what occures you core values will always stay intact.

For example, Justice.

A Police Officer following the law to ensure Justice and never does anything out of order. One day they're attacked and a loved one is killed. Now they work outside the law and appear 'changed' but their core value, Justice, doesn't they just go about handling it different.

Ashley is a soldier of many strict values. This change is out of character and too drastic to be the same person outside brainwashing, clone, evil twin, or whatever.

I'm indifferent. She's dead in most, if not all, of my games... but, for my two cents, I think she looks good. I could go on some tirade about OBJECTIFYING WOMEN but it's a little late to be complaining about that. Overall, good.

Elite is basically the well-known example of someone with a crippling superiorty compelx. They are stubborn as all get out and will stop at nothing to convince other people that they are better than them. They believe they are right no matter what, and will not accept other people's opinions. Their way of explaining that is that they are so much more intelligent than the other people that they don't want to stoop to their level.

When in reality,  they are most likely an insecure individual in real life who somehow hopes to gain validation from attempting to prove a point on an internet video game forum. Unfortunately, people with this known issue are seemingly trapped in a rapidly shrinking bubble, filled with dillusion's of grandeur.

They are hellbent on expressing that they have a greater-agenda, and detail that their trollish activities are somehow to the benefit of the community, when in truth, they are about as common as a grain of sand on a beach, will always be there, and contribute nothing more than something for the rest of the users to get irritated by.

As annoying as these people may be, they are part of the delicate equillibrium needed for a forum to be interesting.

Do you thikn that mayb just Maybe Ashely didn't have Time to

A. put her hair in a pony tail or bun.

B. put on Heavy Armor.

and that once things calm down you will be able to customize all party members like before.

it takes couple of seconds to pull your hair into a ponytail and you can do it while moving.  it takes even less time to...."gasp"  pull your hair out of your eyes and push it behind your ear.  which is infinitly more practical then blocking your eyesight, while trying to shoot things.

and I guess it also means that the normandy has marines on it that hang out wearing heavy armor at all times, just in case... becasue the marine next to her?  was fully suited up.

we haven't seen how Kaidan is dressed in this occasion, so I'm willing, reluctantly, to give in to "no time for armor" but I just have this...feeling that he'll actualy be wearing some.  just a hunch.

its a long time before the game is out.  we have seen only glimpses.  there are a lot of exciting things about the game so far.  but this character redesign... it makes me worried.

Again you have no Idea what Ashely was doing before the aforementioned scene and that Marine is the new character and may have already been suited up. and as some one who has long hair, just because she would put her hair behind her ear does not mean it would even stay there. especially since shes firing a automatic weapon.

Everyone... once again I must ask that you keep the conversation confined to the game. The level of argument here is unacceptable. Bickering is not true discussion and is therefore counter to the goal of the forums.

If it continues, people will be removed from the conversation.

Thank you,

It is well established that kinetic barriers alone do not protect against all possible threats.
